I don't know if you all saw this but this honestly made my blood boil a little bit. Here is a guy who passionately wants to stay in Nashville. I'm not saying Duchene doesn't have warts but not giving him a chance in Brunette's system is always going to stick out as idiotic to me.

Especially if it went down the way he is saying where he met with the team and they asked for his buy in and he agreed and then was put on waivers shortly after... That's a little messed up.

Again only one side of the story but unfortunately its kind of the side I trust right now.

Yeah, if that’s how it played out it’s definitely not a good look for Trotz. It’s one side of the story but it’s the players side and other players are going to listen to it.

It’s definitely cutthroat and if the Predators are going to have a cutthroat mentality at the management level like Vegas, they better start winning, winning a lot and winning fast.

If they are going to be cutthroat then ok...but if we turn around and retain money to send Stamkos back to Tampa at some point then I'm ready to riot. Also should have fired the coach about 20 games ok if that is the mindset.

Actually, this may kind of explain some other moves like Fabbro, Tomasino, and Askarov. I know Fabbro was also devastated and really loved being in Nashville. He also pulled a slasher move on Hynes when that went down, publicly talking up Hynes and how he was really interested in helping him improve and seconds later whipping the rug out from under him.

One interpretation is Barry's just gutting the roster and the pipeline with quick, knee-jerk moves to get rid of everything Poile had a hand in. Anyone's guess as to the reasoning. Might be nothing more than, "Look at me! I'm the big man on campus!" Might be he really wanted to break things so bad that he could get several high draft picks and fantasy league rebound the franchise.

Whatever. It's a dumpster fire on a train wreck and he owns it.

Ok, I'm just gonna say it. We are having a horribly frustrating year, but the Sabres are showing us what true misery as a franchise really is.

And they actually started the season decent, and I'm sure for the first month their fans had some hope.

Can't imagine that kind of fan experience.

NHL officiating is probably the worst in all of professional sports... MLB retired a couple of bad ones or they would have been.
They're all pretty bad. NBA refs allowing a dozen steps before it's a travel, the NFL with that roughing the passer BS...

Boom.

Oh, and burn this thing down.

I guess it seems likely to burn down regardless of intent. San Jose looks like they are doing pretty well in their rebuild? They've got a pair of top-5 pick forwards, including the franchise-superstar guy in Celebrini (to go along with Smith), maybe they have Dickinson and probably should dream of being able to use their top-3 pick this year on Schaefer for the top D pair? Plus got the #1 goalie in Askarov handed to them.

Those are like 5 core prospects pieces that I don't think we have yet. The Sharks also have a bunch of other pretty good prospects at all positions, like we do, but getting those 5 key pieces at the top of the list is a really tough road to get down. They've missed the playoffs what 6 years in a row already? And it's probably going to be at least a few more.

And that's the team which seems to be executing WELL on the tankjob (so far). It's a pretty grim outlook if we do end up burning things down, intentionally or unintentionally. :(

The Sharks are doing something really important right now, IMO. They are fun to watch. It's exciting hockey, their social media presence is lighthearted and entertaining, and they have a clear plan for how they will get competitive. If we can be bad for a few years but offer hope for the future, a great in-arena experience, off the ice entertainment, and an exciting variety of losing, I think we'll be better from an attendance and interest perspective than, say, what we're doing this year...

Regarding Buffalo, truly at a loss for words. The Jets of the NHL. Feel for those fans, they deserve so much better.

It's nice the Sharks are entertaining currently, but they are also about to finish their 6th season at the bottom of the standings-and probably a couple more years to truly be in the playoff hunt. That's assuming they don't pull an Anaheim (another team that had excitement around their young group and how they were playing at the time) and stall/regress. It isn't reasonable to ask a fanbase to wait the better part of a decade for a team to even be a wild card contender in a league when half the teams make the postseason.
