Well that's a long flight for Trouba. Should have put the whole West Coast on his NTC but I guess he didn't, whups. LA probably needs doctors too, but he should have tried harder to not suck as a player.

At least we didn't offer a 4th for him. :handclap:

Saros contract is looking pretty good if Shesterkin is actually at $12m
Fully agreed in a vacuum. I think NYR think their window is open and and are fine paying the price on the backend of the deal, in a way we should not have been. But definitely makes Saros's deal look better in comparison and, if anything, should raise his trade value.

I'm going to guess he burnt it mostly up with Canadian teams. That seems to be what most guys do.

Taking Trouba's contract on without sweeteners attached is an absolute fleecing, let alone actually giving value up (not much, but still). Idk what the Ducks want with him either. I mean his contract only runs through next year so it's not the end of the world but still hard to understand.

Maybe they hope to flip him at the deadline for the classic physical RHD overpay? Feels like they'd still have to retain to get a decent return but that might be easy enough for them to swing.

My guess is Trouba sees Anaheim as an up and coming team, his wife was ok with moving to California, and he is tired of listening to the crap in NY.

No. The Saros contract sucks. He is only going to lose his one advantage as he gets older - his quickness.
I'd rather owe a worn out goalie 8 million a season rather than 12.

True enough - so both contracts suck!
