Watching WSH/PHI and can't help but thinking about McMichael, three point game and 8 points in 6 games he was picked one spot after Tomasino and they've been compared to each other as prospects. Makes me wonder what could be if we weren't so adverse to playing our youngsters.
I mean at this point Evangelista is an anomaly. I don't know how the guy managed to stick with the way we handle our young players.

Lack of sleep, reading too much hockey media and putting pieces together. This gonna go well.

Edit: it did! I made a trade with Fanbase does that one cross over the border and murder me, Vandy is good, and we are facing World War III. Obviously it’s the end of the world. I love you friends. I’ll see you in the other side.

What is going on so far in the Central Division is pretty crazy, Not only are we 1-5-0 but three teams who were supposed to finish behind us in the standings- Jets/Wild/Blues- are a combined 17-3-2. That is nuts. Going to make it even harder to dig out from our hole

It's a long season... but starting off in the hole obviously won't help. Before this I would have pegged us around 80/20 to at least make the playoffs. I would have to optimistically dial that back to something more like 40/60 now. It's an uphill battle. And they have to start climbing really soon. :crossfing

Yeah that's the most concerning part is that the presumed bubble teams are doing great and a couple of the expected top teams (Colorado and Edmonton) got off to slow starts too. So now we have to catch up to the bubble teams and outplay two teams that you'd have to bet will bounce back.

I mean its entirely possible Edmonton was just a 1 off year getting there, just like us, just like San Jose, and just like Montreal. Just because they started out bad last season and turned it around doesn't mean they will do the same this year. They didn't really do anything to make that team better imo and if anything with the two waiver grabs it might have gotten worse.

Colorado will come down to injuries and goaltending. Jets/Wild/Blues I think all come back to the middle before too long.

Utah also probably shouldn't be underestimated either. Lot of talent on that team. Going to be a massively uphill battle.

I thought those teams actually got great value for those D? I’d be happy to get a 3rd for Fabbro and his $2.5M.

Free Dante! :surrender
Some part of me really hopes Waddell is listening when stuff like this is said. The rest of me wants to grab the coaching staff by their lapels and shake them screaming "PLAY HIM NEXT TO JOSI SERIOUSLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU"

Still cannot get over Winnipeg and Minnesota's starts. They are now a combined 19-2-2. We are barely 10 games into the season and we are 13 points behind Jets. Obviously a LONG way to go but it is going to be almost impossible to catch them and if so unless you think we can finish ahead of Dallas makes our ceiling in the division 3rd place. But again, long way to go so who knows

I figure both come back to earth at some point. Remember Hynes is in Minnesota, his teams have always had a tendency to start well and then fade at the end. I think part of that is he has his guys playing full bore coming out of the gate, so when everyone else starts turning it on they have nowhere to go.
