I think Brent Burns might be my new (non Sens) favourite player. Helps that I've got him on my fantasy squad, but I just love the role he plays with the Sharks. Scoring like a mad man, shooting the puck from every angle, and that beard... oh that beard.

Yeah I've loved Burns for a few years now. One of the few I think that's ever successfully played both wing and defense. At least in modern times.
Plus, that beard.

Looks like Anaheim sportswriters are getting a little salty about the Silf-Ryan trade. A lot of them on twitter right now complaining about Silf's lack of production vs. what Ryan is doing in Ottawa.

It's funny because Silf has dominant possession numbers (especially compared to Bobby's) yet our boy has a bazillion more points and our fanbase likes him again. Silf will be lucky to reach Bobby's 32 points by the end of the season.

ANA fans were riding high after Silf's excellent performance in the playoffs. Now they are pissed; the ebb and flow of fandom really. We do the same when Bobby isn't producing, this place becomes bitter and awful.

Habs have scored 14 goals in 9 games.. that ain't gonna win you too many with the mediocre tenders they are rolling out.

That's cause the Habs are a mediocre team without Price. That 10 game winning streak is going to save their season, there's no way they're going to get back up to that level anytime soon. Or at all.

And the sensitive overreaction continues with Dalton Prout. Honestly, the leagues fandom itself is has PC warriors, South Park was right.

I haven't seen any of the media reaction to Prout, but I have no idea what he was thinking. It's not like the guy came in a laid a dirty hit on him, he just seemed to have lost it.

I know the game as a whole was getting chippy, so there's more to it than the little clip than makes him look like some sort of sociopath that's gone off his meds, but damn, if there isn't more to this story, there's no place for that kind of reaction in hockey.

Silf should be the least of their worries. I mean Getzlaf 1 goal in 28 games? Kesler 12 points, -14 in 32?

I think it's part of a larger narrative of how unhappy they are with the entire team.

That Kessler contract looks ATROCIOUS now. It didn't look great at the time but that hot playoff run that inflated his and Silf's stats got him overpaid badly.

They're not too happy about losing Palmieri either. He has 15 goals this season.

Seems like their Murray didn't make the wisest moves either.

No place for that nonsense, however the league better get ready for lots of this in the future now that they're removing fighting and hitting from the game.

I have no idea what others are saying about it (I'm not reading a lot of non-Sens stuff this week), but looking at it right now, it looks bad.

I mean, not McSorely-Brashear bad, but not good.

Exactly what it was compared to on the main boards, where he apparently hit him in the head with 5 cross checks

Was Silf's playoff performance really that good?

I mean I know he got points, but in the one or two games I watched, he still looked like the same player ... not quite quick or skilled enough to be a real good offensive player, not physical enough to be a real good energy line player.

A competent player no doubt, but not someone to get excited about.

His playoffs were outstanding

Montreal would miss Price, everyone knew that but they still got Subban and Patches. No need for those 2 guys to slip in production just because Price is gone.
