devils best player is another year older and is already in his 40s. i dont expect Jagr to be Jagr forever.
I love Dubi, but $5.85m AAV with NMC and NTC!?![]()

You've inspired me to do some research.Fitzy said:I imagine you'd find that teams with a better penalty kill tend to do better than those without. It doesn't make penalty killing efficacy the singular driving force behind building a roster, nor should it.
The issue with the Devils will be goal scoring. On paper, adding Cammaleri and Havlot (LOL) looks fine, but outside of their fluke 2012 season when they were 11th in goals scored, the Devils since 2006 were 21st, 24th, 26th, 15th, 19th, 30th,
28th, and 27th in goals scored.
They dont score goals. He stopped developing players who can score and it has come home to roost. Now he's trying to buy his goal production with aging has-beens and a 42-year-old Jagr playing 20 mins a night.
This isnt the typical Rangers fans saying "The Devils are going to suck this year"....No. They really do suck, and they have no immediate scoring available to them via their farm system or draftees.
Losing 27 games in the shootout means they have no skill. Well, Cammalleri scored a goal in the shootout last season. I guess they're saved.
I mean, enough with Tedenby and Josefson. They suck. Only reason why Larsson gets a pass is because he's a d-man, and they think he'll follow Hedman's track (even though Hedman was never demoted a dozen times and always played 20 mins a night)
Admit it Lou...you failed. Reid Boucher is not going to save your overall horrid development of players.

I looked at the relationship between six team stats and their regular season + playoff wins over the past three seasons. Guess what came out on top?

And no one would. Keep beating on that strawman. You'd be crucified at Goldman for the skewed graphs, PK running 0 to 100 and PP only running 0 to 30. That said, it's good work.
I'm not terribly surprised that these all have a positive correlation. It doesn't mean I'm going to declare Boyle a superior player to Brassard just because he's a better penalty killer.

Really a lot of unwarranted laughing at the Devils here.
Yeah their roster is a year older than an already old team but they have talent and Schneider will get more games this year which will only help them.
Because his team consistently finds impact players in later rounds
That aging has been had 8 more points than your leading scorer
You are being a typical ranger fan blindly ripping on the devils when in reality the more successful franchise is very obvious.
For the 100th time Larsson was a victim of a logjam with Devils defensemen, one that has been cleared up. No more excuses for larsson this is his year to run with a starting spot, we will see how he handles it.

Not anymore.
Detroit has been on the decline for years and continues to stay old and mismanages their younger players. Wouldn't be surprised if Kenny brings back Bertuzzi again too.
I think Dubinsky is a very good player and is probably the next Columbus captain, but $5.85 per and a NMC? Wow... If Sather had given him that, he'd be crucified around here.
Have you considered that Dave Bolland apparently got an extra two million because he scored a Stanley Cup winning goal?Dave Bolland got $5.5M per. Dubinsky >> Bolland. He would have gotten $6M+ per on the open market.
