With both Erhoff and Jovo being bought out, should be interesting watching Buffalo and Florida trying to make the 51 million dollar cap floor.

Florida will need to spend ~14 million and Buffalo 20 million.

I think Florida is gearing up to make a move to add a scoring winger. Buffalo is probably ready to take on a bad contract or two if a team is ready to add a sweetener. Good spot to be with so many teams having cap issues.

Del Zotto done in Nashville?
Sounds like the Preds don't want him anymore

JoshuaCooper @JoshuaCooper · 12m
Poile said they have not made a QO to Del Zotto. Exploring trade, contract or maybe not qualifying him

JoshuaCooper @JoshuaCooper · 9m
Poile said Del Zotto is "not a fit" currently with Nashville

We'll know his situation more tomorrow. He'll either be traded, signed or not qualified

So no more Gagner threads on the trade board.

Does Gagner play wing in TB? Because they have Stamkos, Filppula, Johnson and Thompson at center already.

Well there was that "accidental" tweet about TB buying him out. Would be cheaper than buying out Purcell if so.

Not really sure where he fits in the TBL lineup. Same for Purcell. They already have Hall/Eberle and Perron/Yakupov in their top-six. One of them on the move, perhaps?

Gagner and Crombeen to AZ for 6th rnd pick in '14. TB keeps 1/3 of Gagner salary. #tvasports
-Lavoie

Deal gets better and better for Arizona.

I am now hearing Boyle and Inginla as possible targets for @TBLightning in the UFA Mkt. Some vets to go with a strong group of young players
-Lawton

By all means, take those guys off the market and away from Slats, please.

Feels like a win for Tampa and Phoenix. Tampa dumps salary to go after guys on July 1 and the Coyotes get a young player that will actually have a defense around him that can make up for his defensive play, and they gave up nothing.

Good trade for Edmonton. Purcell will put up points with all the skill forwards there. Big forward for the PP.

But does it bump down Yakupov? Does Draisatl make the team?

They traded MPS and Gagner - two lottery picks - for veteran skill forwards.

How about a friggin dman? A goalie?

Pretty sure they think Fasth and Scrivens solved the goalie issue when they made those trades last year.

You're joking right? Those guys are band aids.

what Edmonton thinks is usually a recipe for disaster.

Scrivens was atrocious at the Worlds this summer. Fasth is 32 and sucked after leaving Anaheim.

They need a real goalie.

Well TB is clearly going to have a bad 2014-2015 season. They're getting rid of all their depth to sign FA. I was told that is the wrong approach.

The Bolts dont need forwards.

Drouin, Connoly and Panik are going to take over spots. They need a defensemen.

Id be shocked if Yzerman took on a big contract after he was gifted 11 or 12 in cap space.

They will probably only sign a backup goalie and a righty dman. Their roster is set.

They traded a goon, an expensive underachiever and a 4th line PKer for cap space and late picks next year.

Tampa will be very, very good next year.
