Rebuild. The trade tree ain't done. Wait and see. Lundkvist alone might make it worthwhile.

See what we can get for Hajek and Howden. Higher picks in order.
Neither are finished products either. They won’t be impact players like McDonaugh or perhaps Lundkvist, but that doesnt mean they can carve out solid careers as role players on good teams. Howden has the skills to be a good 4th liner, he needs more finish and be more stern on the puck. And Hajek can absolutely be a 5-6 or 7th Swiss Army knife D man In the mold of Diaz etc..
Rangers scouting dept. really shit the bed on this one. Imagine if we came away with Cirelli instead of howden. Howden was ranked higher and selected in the 1st RD.
His ceiling was a solid 2C, but floor as an excellent 3rd C. That was totally wrong.
Like many other prospects that put up solid numbers in Juniors/college, the offense just can’t translate to the NHL when the size of the players and more importantly the speed of the game intensifies

god the isles legit could have won a cup this year lol. how the hell did vegas lose to montreal? good lord

Easy - Price didn't shit the bed in those series'. You can argue though that neither of the previous teams really challenged him

One thing we can't assume is the Price would've sucked against the Isles as much as he has against Tampa. But I still think they win in 6 games max

Who knows what these players become if they were in the other system. I have no confidence at all that Cirelli is the player he is today if he was developed in NY/HFD.

The entire nation of Canada was rooting for Montreal. I don't think the nation will forgive them for being swept.
WRONG ! The center of the universe TSN media would love for you to believe that but it is untrue. Most of the Leaf fans are not cheering for them as well as the rest of the NHL city clubs fanbase . But we are all laughing at them . I made a couple of remarks on an 18th based club in the Finals.....and I even had a Hab fan single me out for a scolding/calling down via my Messenger app . I think I ticked him off . LMAO....I told him to go do some looting or upset a few police cars . Then I blocked him.

Fast may have been that player. Timing was a bit off with all these kids.

Wouldn't surprise me if Montreal starts missing the playoffs for a number of years with Anderson, Gallagher, Weber, Price all on the downward trajectory.

Caufield will have to shoot 25 times per game . . . although he would prefer 70 shots per game.

better them than us sulking with the Isles about to raise the Stanley Cup .

f*** the Isles. It's going to really suck for them when we raise the cup before they do. This was their best shot IMO. Trajectory is downward. They have a lousy prospect pool and have traded their last 2 1st rounders, have major cap issues therefore have to let some players walk, and are an older team overall. We are in a much better position moving forward.

Odds are one day this comment will also refer to us...

They're going to be around for the next 3-4 years. They are now at the "one step back" part of having a competitive team in the cap era. They need to rebuild their fourth line and bring in the right type of players/prospects.

Never count Lou out.

Eriksson Ek must be one hell of a defensive maestro to get that contract after only around 2 40 point pace seasons.
