Not in the current economic environment

Yes it will as given that he is under 25 if somehow he turns into the worst defenseman in the league next year they can buy him out for 1/3 of the hit instead of 2/3. So even in the absolute worst possible case it will be easier to deal with than a similar contract to an older player.

Well, lol, hopefully for the Pens it won’t become a situation at least a couple of years down the road. The current environment actually likely helped to keep the price lower to begin with.

Looking forward to the day Cuylle runs through him. Not that i'm bitter or anything! Also, back to fighting for 4th line minutes I see. Hope his new timezone helps his sleep habits. NOT THAT I'M BITTER!

ADA was a great get himself in that deal but Lias busting is a real fly in the ointment. Would it be appropriate to consider Cuylle part of that deal if he becomes a solid contributor?

In my mind, Cuylle is absolutely a part of that trade tree. Still shocked we got a second for Lias in such a great draft. Cuylle could be a better fit than Lias ever was, Center depth not withstanding.

It's a 1-for-1 trade, so yes. He's part of the trade tree as much as Strome is part of the Nash trade tree through Spooner.

Does them moving ADA to LD means he might be staying here longer then 50% of you hoped? I’m a big fan of him and I hope he stays here. There’s too many people here wanting to trade him. I’ve never seen a young player producing points have so many fans wishing for his trade. I dunno but personally ( this nobody typing on a forum) ADA has won a fan for life no matter what jersey he’ll wear. I sorta feel this is a political issue and it’s crazy weird to me...ive seen his twitter and he gets shit for whatever he says for being him. He’ll post a dog and people will post about his political shit. It’s super weird to me. Sorry but I think the that he gets shit for no other reason because he’s outspoken? I just think the ADA hate has other reasons...

If it's successful it at least starts the conversation. Either way I give his chances of staying on broadway between slim and no chance. As for the other stuff, hard to discuss without making the mods mad and deleting. Not really worth going there.

So what's the deal with Hamonic only getting a PTO? Is he one of those Dmen whose games can't handle the 15-16 increase of speed for backenders?

Seems like it’s a way to get him to camp while sorting out their cap situation. They need to put Ferland on LTIR before they announce the signing, as I understand it.

loud Italian people are generally disliked by many. Again, I'd love to see how much Irish heritage lies in the Tony D hater club. I'm betting it's a lot.

Also, I didn't realize how gung ho Tony was about the switch! I'm way more confident, after hearing his confidence. He loves this team, well respected in the room and wants to win with us and most fans hate him. Can't wait until Adam fox never hits 60 points while Tony more than likely will be that Dan Boyle in his prime type we all thought he could become. On a different team.

it just is what it is. I love foxy, but everyone knows he will never have that skill set as Tony will never have some of what Fox brings.

Wow, a lot of assumptions. Could it not just be a matter of his next contract being too high for a defenseman who doesn’t play good defense?

Not sure about HF, but on Twitter it's quite obvious that a lot of people like/dislike him for his political views (it works both ways).

To me it doesn't matter as long as they perform on the ice. The NHL has had problems far worse than this with Bobby Hull as the easiest example.

This day and age everything gets political. I don't bother with twitter so I don't see all of it. I get the gist of his politics and honestly I'm more on the other side from him, but with my sports I just worry about how they play not who they vote for. If someone actually DID something harmful that would be different, to me.
