LOL Hoffman signed a PTO with STL. He's over there like "hey Vancouver, I ain't waiting no more. Get that contract to my agent"

It's amazing how many times we hear about these deals where you can "flip him at the deadline" and it basically never happens as intended.

They are not getting him at a steep discount (in terms of assets). It's arguable if he's even worth a second. He's a defensive third line center these days.

Barring a complete meltdown, he’ll likely land a second or a third. He’s not the player he was 3 or 4 years ago, but he’s probably better then the numbers he posted the last two years in Arizona.

He wasn’t Ottawa’s first choice though.

Ryan Strome?

I’m sure they’d rather not have injuries to their top guys but they’re rebuilding now no?

They’ll get a nice pick if Toews and Dach are out
Yeah Even with Toews and Dach I dont think they would have been that good. That goaltending is a big question mark and they weren't good defensively to begin with. I was kind of surprised they beat Edmonton but that goes to show you the issues Edmonton has.

Will Kane stick it out in Chicago through rebuild? He’s no spring chicken and got to look what happens 3 / 4 seasons down the road.
