The surgery Kucherov is having is not fishy bullshit. It’s actually pretty serious. Rehab didn’t work so he is undergoing surgery. Tampa what was going on and acted accordingly. They are still going to have to move a contract..

The surgery isn't the fishy part. I don't think anyone is calling the surgery fishy.

The fishy part is the fact that they are expecting him to be ready around Game 1 of the playoffs, despite not having gone through surgery/rehab/on-ice training post-rehab.

Yes, you can somewhat generalize based on averages for past surgeries of the kind he will be receiving. But it is still incredibly disingenuous and not medically accurate to assume the average is correct or accurate to the person you are attributing it to.

The fact that Tampa is calling his definitive return to a 3-day window is INCREDIBLY SKETCHY considering that is not how surgery/rehab actually works.

56 games in 116 days. Thats basically 1 game every other day for 4 months. Thats a lot of hockey to make up for some teams not playing for nearly 10 months.

I think it was LeBrun or someone that posted that the rate of games per day was roughly the same as a full season. Obviously it looks more compact with an overall schedule.

But on a team-basis, it's a roughly similar rate to a full season. Obviously, a few parts are going to be more condensed than others to make up the same rate.
