I keep thinking about how Tampa can fit Cirelli and it makes my brain hurt. I could see Stamkos being exposed and taken by Seattle in the Entry draft, but they still have to get there.

Things like this are said every year and yet there will be major disappointments and surprises. I wouldn't be surprised if Ottawa made the playoffs this year and one of the favorites didn't. It's hockey.

I dont think the sens will be a bad team, i was just meaning that the division is tough on paper outside of Ottawa as someone mentioned the Canadian division wasn't good.

What? This makes way more sense than expecting a linesman at full speed to determine if a skate was a millimeter off the ice

There is zero chance you can claim that this makes the refs job easier in real time.

I asked this question on the main board and I'll ask it here...

What should the NBA rule be for 3 pointers - Having your feet behind the line in the act of shooting OR having your entire body behind the plane of the three point line in the act of shooting. Which would be easier for refs to determine in game? Which would be easier to determine on video review?

Just curious.

I 100% make this claim. Linesman looks down the line, sees a skate anywhere over blue, it's good. Previously he had to tell if ANY bit of the skate was touching the ice surface. How can you not see the difference?

Basketballs and hockey pucks. Completely different rule. Also with the BB player the ref doesn't also have to watch where any number of other guys are in relation to the same line.

he has a nmc.

he’d have to agree to it

Not necessarily. It depends on the exact language used in the contract. 3 years ago, in preparation for the Vegas expansion draft, the NHL went through each contract individually to determine which ones were auto-protections.

Rick Nash who had a limited NTC at the time was an auto-protection, while Bobby Ryan who had a NMC, wasn't.

This is important...

Pro Hockey Rumors is reporting (via CAP friendly) that the requirement for NHL games played for the expansion draft has been dropped to 27/54 from 40/70. From the Rangers perspective that means Bitetto only needs to play three games to be an eligible defenseman who meets the exposure requirement. That frees the Rangers to play Hajek, shop him or send him to the AHL.

Several potentially vulnerable forwards have already met the requirement.

Credit to GMJG for excellent planning here.

this rebuild, lottery and expansion rules keeps going the Rangers way. Amazing

So I player can do a flamingo stance with one skate onside and it’ll be onside?

...that has always been the case?

e: I mean this just makes it so you don't have those stupid reviews where they call it offsides because the players skating stride means their skate lifted off of the ice but was still clearly over the blueline while they were skating in but since it wasn't on the ice anymore the rule was that they were technically offside

there is nothing shady about it if he gets surgery then he's out. he's not pretending to be hurt and trust me if they were going to cheat to get around the cap they wouldn't do it by losing their best player

He could now, if the one skate was on the line. But now, JUST LIKE WITH THE GOAL LINE, there's a plane to break, not a line on the ice
Yeah, I thought it sorta sounded like the old rules. But I also had to reread it to grasp it. :::dunce cap:::

On fans in the stands in NY news. maybe Buffalo Sabres will get the same treatment.
Cuomo says he may allow 6,700 football fans to attend a Buffalo Bills game | Daily Mail Online
Maybe we’ll get to see live games after all in ny if you want to drive..

there’s nothing shady about him being hurt. There is something shady about them already declaring him “out for the regular season” and expecting/hoping him to be ready for G1 in the playoffs. They can’t know his status to a 2-3 day time frame.
