I want to try it already just to say I've had it. Same with Detroit style pizza. St. Louis was on a short list of cities to visit and see an NHL game in (I have friends in that neck of the woods) pre-Covid.

I'm in Austin, Texas last year immediately after attending the Rangers home opener for a bachelor party and after pigging out at a steakhouse and bar crawling (which is never the best idea in that order lol) my friends stop and find a Detroit style pizza truck...and I'm too stuffed to even look at it. Was so pissed.

@aufheben I'm intrigued by Ottawa going back to their old logo. Curious if it's just the current jerseys with that logo or something else.
“Detroit style”. Please elaborate. Never heard of it. I’m intrigued.

Senators are going back to their original logo.

This is a great day for hockey.
I didn’t even know they had a “new” logo. I strongly dislike (I can’t bring myself to use the word ‘hate’ for sports nonsense) that franchise.

Detroit style is basically pan pizza thats almost double the thickness of a good NY Sicilian slice. Usually they pile the meat toppings on it, so it's pretty greasy. It's better than Chicago style (that's not pizza, that's a casserole), but it's not particularly good. Too doughy. Think Little Caesars.

stamkos skated in morning skate...not expected to play tonight but could mean a return during the finals is possible.

I feel like this is a generalization. Again, I haven’t tried it, and I’d agree with “Chicago pizza is not pizza” for example. But from what I understand, St Louis style sounds quite straightforward and a format that a good cook could do good things with.
We’re talking about flat-bread basically, right? I mean, you could say that’s not pizza either. But certainly a good cook could do good things within that range.
Pizza also isn't a Italian dish.

Wrong, Sicilian

Which just proves that this kind of thing is silly. Pizza just comes in many different forms and opinions shouldn't cross categories.

For example, you shouldn't be comparing Louie & Ernie's (or whatever NY style you like) to DiGiorno (frozen) or California Pizza Kitchen (gourmet) or Domino's (fast food). They're not the same thing.

I've had this discussion with so many people since coming to the South that this is where I've landed on the topic. Rate within pizza categories, but not against each other.

I hear what you're saying, but classifying CPK as gourmet pizza is laughable. Maybe if you're comparing it to Dominoes it would be considered gourmet, but I think both of them suck in different ways.

I don't mean gourmet in terms of quality, I mean it in terms of approach. Maybe you can call it specialty or non-traditional. I mean, the "classic pizzas" section of their menu includes an item that has gouda. They're not really doing your standard pepperoni.

Fair enough...but it still sucks. LOL.

An NY parking ticket.

I've never been impressed with them myself, I just thought it was a well-known example of that kind of place. I like Mellow Mushroom for that kind of thing (the closest one of those to NYC is in Tom's River, NJ)

Whoooo, Toms River!!!! Lol

I worked at the very first Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta in 1975. Very interesting owners. Venture capital was not an issue. That is all am legally allowed to say. Fun times.
