NBCSN just flashed a graphic saying the Knights are the first team to go to the conference finals twice in their first three seasons.

Technically true since conferences didn’t even exist until the 70s... but the Rangers went to the Stanley Cup Final twice in their first 3 seasons, winning once. And the St Louis Blues went to the Stanley Cup Final in all three of their first 3 seasons, losing all 3... though that was just because they put the 6 expansion teams in one division and the original 6 in another.

If the Canucks won, the Devils pick would've dropped quite a bit as well. The Rangers going up one slot would've just been the icing on the cake. It is what it is.
 
The 1 shot on that 5 minute PP and that sick Lehner save on Boeser when score was still 0-0 was the difference.

Demko jus might have gotten himself a starting gig after the incredible performance he put on.

So Vegas Dallas huh?....Not very excited but I'll root for Dallas as no team in the league for just 3 years should win a Cup.

Tommorow I expect the Islanders to finish off the Flyers in convincing fashion but than get throttled by the Lightning as they should have Kucherov back for sure and even Stamkos is possible from what I read.

So give me a Tampa Dallas Cup and it's the best of all worlds. I'll be OK with a Tampa Vegas final as well.

Bottom line....We are all Lightning fans for at least one round for sure.

Playoffs have been amazing...I can't stop saying that but it's just so surprising that it's worked out so well. Very happy about it.

Vegas Dallas should be fun. Sure not firewagon Vancouver - Colorado but kind of a throwback Western Conference showdown, 2 hard working heavy teams grinding it out.

Forgot about that. But yeah, it would’ve bumped up the Rangers to 22 and dropped one of the Devils’ picks behind us.

I'm sure he is referring to the mcsorley illegal stick...members of the kings claim that the habs knew it was illegal because the habs took the king's stick rack into their lockerroom and measured them which obviously isn't allowed. but the stick was still illegal so its dumb.

It’s explained more fully in Gretzky’s book “99: Stories of the Game” but back then, the home team would provide attendants to the visiting teams. It was told to him that the attendant that the Canadiens provided to the Kings went in and measured the King’s players sticks, specifically that I can remember McSorley and Robitaille. When the Canadiens needed a late PP they “guessed” McSorley and were right. That was the end of that series and the end of Canadian teams winning the cup.

that was game 2 and habs won the series in 5...and the stick was illegal. if mcsorley wasn't cheating by using an illegal stick to score like 0 goals this wouldn't be an issue. why does a plug dman need an illegal stick?

They would have never known about it if they didn’t have someone sneaking around their locker room. Illegal or not, they were never getting the power play without that knowledge.

Joel Kiravanta(who?) + Hat trick in Game 7 = John Druce. For those of y'all too young to know what I'm referring too and who John Druce is and what he did too us...do a google search...lol

WCF Prediction: Vegas beats Stars in 5. No chance in hell does Khudobon stone Vegas like Demko and Markstrom did. This will be a quick and relatively painless series for Vegas.

ECF Prediction: If Islanders win, Tampa wins in 7 because as a narcissistic Ranger fan as we all know this is all about us and how effected we'll be if Islanders make it to the Cup finals(LOL). So with that said, the hockey god will insure that we are going to be on pins and needles and will have plenty of agida watching this series, but Tampa will ultimately prevail and come thru for us but not withought a bigtime fight from the very resilient Islanders.

If Flyers win, Tampa wins in 5 because they are simply alot better than the Flyers and Tampa has great goaltending too and I'd anticipate Vasilevsky to out duel the very impressive Carter Hart.

OK off to the beach...cheers and catch y'all tonight!

A missed call vs actively sneaking around to get favorable info on your opponent. That’s not the same at all. But the fact remains that it’s been 27 years. Canadian teams have only been in the cup finals 4 times since then. After being in the cup finals 9 times between 1980-1990 and winning 6 of them. Curse is real.

I'll be watching and hoping Isles blow it but Philly really isn't that good so I expect Piles to win the series unfortunately. No matter who Tampa plays it's not going more than 5. Tampa beat a much better Boston team in 5 and has had a chance to rest and get Kucherov back.
