His levels of inconsistency and yet his consistency of being able to get a team to the playoffs and then no show as soon as a challenge shows up is fascinating...

Guys playoff record is good in terms of wins and losses but his disappointments and the fact that he couldn't hardly get to the end round consistently is just pathetic

Was it zero elite talent up front or was AV just heavily out coached in both series?

Lets face it, Hart, Montreal hitting all of the posts and Price being playoff Price are the only reasons they got as far as they did. They were massively outplayed in that first series. That team is only going to get worse as AV gets to mold that team into his vision. 16 shots in an elimination game after your goalie stole you game 6 is pathetic. He hasn't learned a god damn thing.

Isles get dropped in 5 against Tampa. Too much depth for them to match up with and their 2nd and 3rd pair D are not really good. I can see their top pair really struggling to handle Tampa's overall speed.

I've honestly never had a problem with Canadian fans. After the Rangers home opener I was chilling with Peg fans before I hopped on the train to head to Austin for a bachelor party... and they were all mad cool.

Even Flyers fans have been cool.

The only fanbase I ever really had an issue with were Islanders fans which is why I can't stand them.

We all want to believe that the Islanders are going to get smoked but they have the best coach and are playing a really impressive team game. It’s going to be a battle.

No doubt. Listen I hate the Islanders as much if not more than anyone in here seeing I was around and had too deal with them beating us pretty much every year while I was in college, in the playoffs while they went on to win Stanley Cups and we went home to the golf courses with our tails betweeen our legs despite always giving them a tough time.

So I know all about Islander hate but let's not kid ourselves here and let's not let blind hatred for them skew the reality of the situation at hand. Anyone in here who thinks Tampa is going to dominate the Islanders in 4 or 5 games is kidding themselves. I can hate the Islanders with a passion but I can also respect them and not be blinded by hate.

Believe me I wish I didn't believe this series is going 6 and more than likely 7 but I can't help but look at the reality of the situation. Islanders have the best coach still standing. They play the best trap since the 2000 NJ Devils.

They are as resilient as any team still standing and depending upon how Kucherov and even Stamkos is healthwise, the matchup vs Tampa is not as daunting as it could be. What gives me comfort is that Vasilevsky is head and shoulders the best goalie in this series and in fact the playoffs, and he can win the series by himself...he's that good!

For any of us who think the Islanders can't pull off the upset over Tampa, I'd think we'd need to take them Ranger blue,red and white glasses off cause the reality is, this Islander team and it makes phlemn come up as I say this, has a real shot at beating Tampa who IMO is the best team standing and they'd also have a more than decent chance to beat whoever comes out of the West. We can talk all we want about how "great" Vegas is. I dunno but I saw some warts on that Vegas team and they are far far from being unbeatable. Better for all of our blood pressures if Tampa dispatches them in the ECF rather than Vegas in the Cup finals where disaster lurks.

Get prepared my brothers for alot of stressful games and break out the rolaids and have them handy cause the last thing we want is the Islanders to win a Cup before we do as if that even needs to be said!

So go f'nTampa...get the job done for your brothers up north. You owe us anyways for allowing you to hose us in that trade we did a few years ago.. Beat the Islanders and we can call it even...lol

Defense wins Championships. Tampa added some grit after their figure skating team from last season got swept while the Isles, Dallas and Vegas all play the boards hard.

I can't even be mad at the Islanders lol, they absolutely f***ed Philly's shit up.

They had to have had the worst, least deserved playoff run I've seen in a long time. They were outclassed every game. I'd be livid if I were a fan.

and even with that they had to go to 7 games and were down multiple goals in multiple games needing comebacks. The islanders had to go to their back up for game 7.

Are they really going to get by Tampa? I just can’t see it.

All of that you just mentioned shows that they are never out of a game. I think this series is gonna be closer on ice than on paper.

I think the thing that will be taken from the Islanders if they win the cup(not saying they will but if) is the system of rolling 4 lines and 6 defense(ie depth > star power). That system worked for the Blues last year and Vegas is another team that seemed to use that formula as well and they have had good success.

Cooper is no genius, but his team is really good.

Philly was awful in that Montreal series. People overlooked how bad they were but it was apparent to anyone who closely watched that series. I’m surprised it went 7 games with the Isles bc Philly wasn’t good

Sorry but I think your way way off if you think the Philes are going to get smoked. Smoked too me leads me to believe you think the series goes no more than 5 games. I think your heart is getting in the way of your head.

Tell ya what, let's do a friendly $10 bet payable PayPal or Venmo whichever....if you are right and Isles get smoked in 5 or less...I owe you. If it goes 6 or more which obviously means there was no smokage, you owe me....deal?

Trust me, it would be the best $10 I ever spent if you ended up being right as agida and stress would be at a very low level compared to what I believe it will be...lol

Its actually a minor miracle that Philly went to game 7 of the 2nd round while playing almost zero good games in the playoffs. Chalk it up to facing teams that don't score very well, chalk it up to Hart. But they looked like a crappier version of the 2017 Rangers.
