Losing faith in the Flyers every game I watch of them. They didn’t even look good against the 24th Place scabs.

Hope I’m wrong and they can right thr ship but I don’t see them beating the fishdicks

HF is great comedy on a Saturday night since I do miss attending comedy shows in the city.
AV takes this team (that has overachieved all year) this far and will be runner up for coach of the year and he is a horrible coach . It’s was completely crickets in here all year long. Best year they’ve had in forever with their two best offensive players on the decline and completely sucking.

Flyers look like pure garbage. Isles are going to the ECF AINEC. Lets just hope Tampa or Boston don't fall into their trap.
Missed the Bruins game but heard they played like ass. Little worried since I felt like the bruins had the best chance of defeating the flyers/islanders winner.

Kevin Hayes is the flyers best forward for a while now. This team could be coached by Scotty bowman you’re not going to the ecf and I’m a Hayes fan

AV is a great coach but he can't seem to get it done, meaning win the Cup. His teams seem to do better in the regular season.

I don't necessarily think AV is a bad coach but his unwillingness to change things in a strategic way under any circumstances are going to lead to his own demise everytime.

It's the coaches that look at things from a defensive view point on out first and then can adjust on the fly that seem to always have the most success @GoAwayStaal .

You defend the house first, then attack, not vice versa unless the opportunity presents itself.

Play with the hand you're dealt..

Fair enough. He has been in the league and won a shitload of regular season and playoff games. His real chance was game 7 with Vancouver but missing/injured 7 starters put the nail in that coffin.

AV does great in the regular season then chokes in the playoffs. Doesnt make any adjustments when the other team has figured out how to exploit your game.

Bos did it to him.
LA and Tampa did it to him.
Now the Isles.

Are we not rooting (reluctantly) for the Islanders in this series to move our pick up a spot?
Rather see Vancouver and Dallas but it is what it is. Hard to root for either flyers or islanders

That "overachieving" team is under achieving in the post season, which is a chronic issue with their coach. Happened in Vancouver, happened in NY and it's happening in Philly. Only difference is its happened immediately in Philly (Carter Hart is no prime Lundqvist or Luongo.) They really had no business getting by Montreal and lets not forget that his team blew a 3 goal lead in a game they had complete control of and fortunately got a bounce in OT to salvage that game. They deserve to be down 3-0 in their current series.

Coach of the year is a cute little award, but the end results speak for themselves.

Overachieving during the regular season vs being competitive in the post season is two different worlds.

You know that..

he had inferior teams in each of those series but I understand if he’s gonna get shit for that. As long as people give him credit for being one of the most successful NHL coaches in nhl history. Can’t have it both ways. People calling him a horrible coach either have ax to grind or know nothing about sports

He must be able to make some adjustments because he was within 1 game of the cup with Vancouver and went to the finals with the rangers also. I could understand this argument if he consistently got knocked out in first and second rounds.

His Vancouver team was stacked and yeah, that team probably wins if they stay healthy.

His NY team was basically filled with guys who developed under another coach. It should be mentioned that he did a ton of really, really good things in his first season here. Its what followed afterwards where he fell back into bad habits and made idiotic decisions that really made some of us sour on him.

His Vancouver teams did generally get knocked out of the 1st or 2nd round. The cup final season was the only year they went beyond that and they got swept by a pretty weak Sharks team in his last season in Vancouver. His last 2 playoff Ranger teams got torched by the Pens (okay, they went on to win the cup and were clearly better going into that series), and then lost to the Sens because of his love affair with bad defensemen - That was a series that they 100% should have won.

Cute award  That is funny.
Yes overachieving. This philly team would have won the metro this year. An increase of over 20 points from the previous year. I am sure you expected them to make the ECF with a different coach this year right?

Yes they blew a 3-0 but did win the game. Torts and his amazing defensive Jackets blew a 3-0 lead with barely any time left in a game and then again late against tampa in an elimination game (2 goal lead i believe). It happens.

Having said what I said about AV, I do expect the Flyers to be a much better team next year.

Are they winning the cup?

Hellz na..

They aren't that good to even come close to winning the cup right now unless Patrick comes back and becomes a tremendous center. I thought their bottom 6 was bad. Their first line has been MIA.
They still have some good young players no doubt and still a young team but they don't have anyone up front that is even close to being on a Barzal level.
