Carolina, Columbus, and Philly are all still going to be problems. The Islanders will always be close to playoff contention as long as they have Trotz. He's a top 5 coach in the league.

They are quality teams but none are on the level of what the Caps, Pens and Bruins have been.

Carolina with a goalie would be quite problematic. CBJ seems like they have a ceiling of round 1 playoff spoiler. Philly is gonna get AV'd so they dont worry me going forward.

It's good to see that their defensemen chase behind the red line just like the Rangers' did when AV was here. Shows that's a coaching issue and not the players being dummies. Myers shouldn't be chasing there when the Islander at the half wall was already being checked.

The Flyers had a much better start to this game, Trotz made some very simple adjustments and now Philly is chasing the play.
Let's see if AV is up for the task in the next period which I highly doubt.

Trotz just always seems to be 2 steps ahead but you never know.. Philly pulled it off last game..

I am wondering when teams are going to realize AV will NEVER win a Stanley Cup and why so that they can stop hiring him. He CANNOT adjust. He has coached some great Canucks and Rangers teams. Other than that, he's still the reason the NYR lost that series in seven to TB in 2015. Shutout the final two home games because he couldn't break a Trotz-like system. He is a complete deer in situations like these. His regular seasons are good. Isles have dominated them effort-wise and system-wise since the goal. LOL. Philly is one team I don't fear going forward one iota. Go look at their contracts, too.

If he has discipline problems - on the ice, I mean - the Rangers might not be his optimum destination. I like Quinn, but the Rangers are certainly not a team I’d call ‘disciplined’.

Exactly. I don't like AV as a coach and I'm glad he is no longer HC of Rangers but to question his character because he was focused on what they are paying him to be focused on is total bullshit.

They do what they do well. I still don't think you can win with this style of hockey unless you have top shelf talent, which the Isles don't.

AV is not a olayoff coach. overrated in my opinion. any team that he coaches tunes him out quick for a reason. worst coach whenever he coaches.
