Ritchie having the kind of game that gets you traded in the off season.

Boston was the absolute worst landing spot for him. Kid needed a change of scenery but really needed to go somewhere that would help him rein in his temper and make better decisions so he can spend more time on the ice instead of in the box.

Was going to mentioned that he's kind of reminding me of the stuff Kadri was doing as a Leaf in their first rounds against the Bruins

it's a shame the Rangers did not sign Goodrow when he was at their prospect camp in 2012. another one that got away

I'm not sure that we didn't at least try to sign Goodrow. They obviously liked him. I mean they had Zaitsev at functions over multiple years. He chose to sign elsewhere. Same for Sustr. Matt Read. We had JAM in PDC and Hartford, tried to sign him but he went elsewhere. Several others that went on to be drafted. Lots of times these guys are in multiple camps--Goodrow was also there in LA. Sometimes you make them offers and they go elsewhere.

We've done fine with UDFA players like Pionk, Goergiev, Talbot, Zucarello, Girardi, and other lesser guys over the years like an Ortmeyer or someone. I wager one of our college UDFAs this year will have an NHL career.

It's tough to find UDFAs that are good enough to make it AND get them to sign with you. Once the guys start making noise, there is competition.

Perfect timing for our ascendency. Caps, Pens and Bs all heading downhill.

yeah, we’ll likely have company in a few year though. Ottawa has some nice prospects and many picks, Devils adding three more #’1 and the Flyers are going to be a PITA. We’re looking good though.

Luckily we have a major advantage over the Sens and Devils in attracting free agents. Also the Flyers best forwards are long in the tooth and their young replacements aren't as talented as ours.

No one should be afraid of Ottawa.

Not yet at least, watch these next two drafts ... booooi, they will have some farm going on.

There is some great talent coming up, the league is gonna get more exciting!

Personally I'll be keeping a side-eye on Detroit in the future. Seider will anchor German hockey into a new age, I'm tellin' ya.

I'd still take him here with open arms. He's the kind of player this team needs if he can get his temper under control.

Carolina, Columbus, and Philly are all still going to be problems. The Islanders will always be close to playoff contention as long as they have Trotz. He's a top 5 coach in the league.

Carolina with a goalie would be quite problematic. CBJ seems like they have a ceiling of round 1 playoff spoiler. Philly is gonna get AV'd so they dont worry me going forward.

A Florida team that gets their shit together would scare the f*** out of me.

He'd be an intriguing project. There's skill there to work with and I think his underlying numbers in Anaheim were pretty solid. I'm just not sure where he fits into the lineup. Maybe a 3LW if Kreider gets moved to the right.
