Man I went to bed when it was 2-1 Colorado.

What the f*** happened in that game?

Huge momentum swings...Dallas came out flying in the 3rd..scored 3 goals in about 6 minutes to make it 4-3 & it looked like the Avs were dead & buried.

A minute after giving up the lead, MacKinnon sets up Rantanen on a beautiful 2 on 1 & the Avs spring back to life.

2 minutes later Kadri scored on a slick deflection & the kept the lead for good.

Was a great game to watch unless you had a rooting interest...then it would've been way too stressful.

I have to be honest I forget the woman's name that does color but listening to her is like getting teeth pulled. I know that NBC REALLY wants to make a statement because of what happened with JR and Milbury but there have to be better female color commentators.
And the sad thing is, they exist. Sarah Kustok is really quite good for the Nets.

Both the NFL with the woman that does play by play and NHL are more interested in positive political PR than actual finding women that are good at their jobs. There are plenty of women that would be good at this but in their haste to get positive PR they didn't even consider looking for a woman that's good at her job.

your beef should be with NBCSN on this one, but they've had a subpar hockey product for years, so it's not surprising

lets be fair, a lot of the male announcers are terrible at their jobs as well lol

Yeah, it's the networks. I kind of mindlessly want to write NHL and NFL and have already caught myself before this but didn't this time.
To that point though, it wouldn't surprise me if it came out that the NHL gave some recommendations to NBC for who to hire when they picked up the NHL license. But right now with NBC's product it kind of feels like it's in a state where the NHL is kind of selective with what they do to keep NBC happy, and the NHL product isn't big or lucrative enough for NBC to care all that much about how they're presenting it

Yes, but when you have 1 female announcer and she's terrible it's more jarring. Milbury was terrible though.

Milbury is not this terrible monster you're all making him out to be.

He just tells the truth..

Question is.. Are you just that fragile?

If so, you should just kick your own ass for being a dumbass lol

I don't think Milbury even believes half the shit he says, his job is to say things to get a rise out of people

I agree with the first part and disagree with the second part. The only qualification for female 'sportscasters' is looks. Nothing else. I turn them off almost instantly, but one thing I have noticed (I'm not sure if it's the NHL Network, NBCSN or both) is that the none of them last more than one season on the highlight show. It's like Logan's Run. 25 is OK but as soon as they hit 26 they're dead.

Maybe I'm in the minority here.
I'm never going to consume the NBA or NFL again and likely not the MLB.
I can't take the politics anymore. These hypocritical multi millionaire athletes who are sponsored by multinational corporations whose products are made with slave labor not doing their jobs due to 'injustice' is just pathetic.
The NHL is complicit in it too. Anyone play hockey here? Where do your skates and equipment come from? Mostly Thai sweatshops who employ children (For Bauer) and China (CCM).
The NBA is by far the worst one. The NBA players are big babies. Legitimate babies. 99.999% of America makes less money than them and they can't just call into work because of a criminal incident in Wisconsin. In fact a lot of America has lost their jobs and are really struggling. And they sit here and have the audacity to speak about 'inequality and justice' while they wear $500 Nike shoes and jerseys produced in actual concentration camps in China. The sheer audacity to say that all of this is rooted in slavery while endorsing products produced by slavery is just horrible ethics. And the media just ignores it and calls these spoiled, entitled millionaires 'brave' for calling into work.
If Lebron really cared about social justice, he would end his sponsorship with Nike. He makes millions annually from modern slavery. That's just facts.
The NFL is nearly as bad. The only difference is that they treat their players (who aren't star QB's) like actual slaves.
It's disgusting.
I want to believe this is a misguided 'follow the leader' antic by the NHL. I want to believe that they are just saying the right thing to appease the Twitter mob. But I don't know anymore, the world has descended to madness and I don't think anybody will like where we end up. There's a legitimate possibility that we may be seeing the last days of professional sports as we know them.. along with many other things.

I wish I could like this post 100x. It should be on the cover of the NY Times.

My relationship with the NFL has been teetering for about 5 years, but I'm just about to call it quits with all the wife beaters, protests, concussions, cheaters, awful officiating, et al. Hasn't helped that the Giants have sucked for almost 10 years now, but the league overall gives off some serious bad vibes.

I've been done with the NBA & MLB for about 20 years. Even if you ignored the substantial issues outside the lines, the actual game day product for both of those sports is complete garbage.

Without turning this political, LeBron might be the biggest charlatan of all time. His take on Hong Kong should tell everyone all they need to know about that hyporcrite.

you’re in the minority and on a hockey message board in August. You’re a sports fan and you’re going to continue to watch sports.

they’re raising awareness on excessive violence against American citizens on the streets of this country. You’re tying overseas manufacturing abuse to it because whataboutism is the easy way to dismiss a cause you don’t agree with.

don’t watch (we know you will) That’s your choice but don’t bring this garbage here. The athletes are standing up for their fellow citizens and they should be applauded.
