The flyers just have so many guys doing absolutely nothing. They only got by Montreal because the have hit like 6 posts in two games that they lost 1-0 and like 2-0.

they looked great to end the season and great in the play in and then poof just the offense has completely disappeared

I don’t like that Yotes penalty just for the fans sake. Maybe remove all their picks from this draft - already dealt their first anyway - and don’t prolong the penalty into the next draft. Those fans have had a rough go as it is and are probably about to lose Hall.

It’s also seen as a tough market to begin with and this can’t help. Imagine if this penalty came down in a place like Toronto? Fans would riot.

I don’t know what the story is with the Flyers. They were outplaying teams for the majority of the season—especially the second half—and then they steamrolled the Round Robin. It’s like the Habs broke their brains.

Habs are basically Philly kryptonite. Match up wise it was horrible for them and if they had a goalie who wasn't a complete asshole in the playoffs, they probably win that series.

I figured they'd have an easier go of it with NYI since they're pretty slow, but they look even worse in this series.

I think they have come down to earth obviously. They really aren't that great upfront especially with their two vets looking super invisible.
Yeah but usually when a team comes back down to earth, it’s because they were riding unsustainable shooting% and/or save%, i.e. luck, but the Flyers were actually outplaying teams.

That would’ve been the smarter play... don’t do it or don’t get caught. I just say that in terms of looking at a team that already has a small fan base. It could be bad for the franchise in AZ and consequentially bad for the league.

Philthy has to play desperation hockey for 60 mins a clip in order to advance.

Trotz will adjust accordingly..

The punishment is to send a message so it doesn’t happen again. How are you stopping other teams from breaking rules if you don’t punish them cause you feel bad for their fans

I totally get that. I never said “don’t punish them.” I actually said to take away all their picks this year. I just wouldn’t make this a multi year penalty. I’m thinking that it would be devastating if Hall leaves and they’re up for a top 5 pick which would be crushing. Agree to disagree though.

Fine the offenders. They aren't subject to the CBA, so you can fine them more than the $2,500 you can fine players.

I don't think you can take loss of draft picks off the table, but I understand the argument.

The penalty was a 1st and 2nd. It is only across multiple years cause they traded away their first. Taking away picks in rounds 3-7 instead isn’t an equal punishment

They didn’t have a 1st this year, otherwise I’m sure it would have been this year’s first that they lost.

Next year’s gonna be a great year to be in the lottery with one less team in the mix. Percentages should go up for all.

Watching Tampa in the playoffs makes me angry that the Rangers could have had Sergachev and Point but chose Hajek and Howden instead.
