Well I have a much more specific reason to hate the Flyers.Islanders fans are always @%%&% and they'll rub their success in for all eternity.
What have the Flyers really done to be hated or heels (bad guys for you non-wrestling fans) in the last 20 years? Carcillo punched Gaborik in the face ten years ago and then he became a Ranger and the image of him scoring that goal and getting flipped off by the fans is one of the most iconic Rangers photos in my lifetime. Simmonds cheapshotted McD and then McIlrath kicked his ass.
The Flyers have been more the Rangers ally than enemy since NHL Reboot 05. Blah blah blah Dale Rolfe that was 45 years ago.
I'd honestly say of all the teams in the Metropolitan the Rangers have more beef with the Penguins, Islanders, Capitals, and even Canes at this point.
He was very quickly hired by the Minnesota Wild.He must've seen that he wouldn't be very busy the next two years and packed his bags
“It’s the circle of liiife...”Goalies recently have become de-emphasized, there will come a time in the NHL when elite goalies are cool again.

Many years ago, the Flyers approached me about a position in the organization. A pretty big position. I went to games with their senior management (including a game at MSG) , negotiated with them for several weeks and had a bunch of interviews including one with Bobby Clarke. I patiently waited for an offer that never came and I found out the day after a Christmas (by reading the newspaper) that they had hired someone else. The Flyers can go f*** themselves.
If AV loses in the Cup finals, that will be a hat-trick for him.
Actually Clarke couldn’t have been nicer. He wanted to hear all about my times in the minor leagues. We had some mutual connections and he told me a few great stories. We really hit it off.wow, that’s rough. Appears you were close yet from a distance it appears Bobby Clarke runs that organization. I would hate them too.
i do get confused these days when people say i “negotiated”. Appears these days it’s the opposite. With a the competition so fierce you land the job and after a year negotiate and win b/c the company doesn’t want to lose what they already invested in you.

There was a time when it felt like a star/future HOF goalie won the Cup or at least made the finals every year like Roy, Brodeur, Belfour, Hasek. But in the cap era we've seen rookies or very inexperienced goalies win it all like Ward, Niemi, Murray and Binnington.Goalies recently have become de-emphasized, there will come a time in the NHL when elite goalies are cool again.
I was on a hockey discussion panel with Fischer at Syracuse University in 1975. I’m an alum and this is when I was working in minor league hockey.Yikes I'm sorry about that. I can understand your hatred plus being a Ranger fan doesn't help.
I never liked Stan Fischler for the same reason. I don't want to say I hate him because the guy is nearly 90 and I finally got a career break in my late-30s after years of being at mostly trash jobs, but in the early 2000s when I was young and right out of college and looking to shape my career, I spoke to him on the phone about interning and he just seemed to be in such a bad mood and grump that day. I was trying to compliment him on one of his articles he published a week before and ask about hockey and he gave me the "I just got out of bed and haven't had my black coffee" vibe. We never spoke again.
I already had an issue with him because of all the cheap shots he'd take at the Rangers throughout the 80s and even the early 90s when he was on the Sportschannel payroll and lets just say I have acquaintances and I've worked with people throughout my life who have worked with him and it's very hard for me to stay cordial and not just say "%#% that guy."
Is Fischler retired from TV? I can't remember the last time I saw him on one of the local teams broadcasts.

The problem then (and now) was the assholes at Comcast.
He has some chronic injury, he didn't even play this year. And the past few years he kind of sucked. Really no different than what happened with Callahan. Those guys played a tough style, being done because of injury at 34-35 is about right.Dubinsky retiring... Torts sucked the life out of that team
