So I couldn't watch the finals so far, since the games start at 2 AM. How is the hockey? Good? Intensity and pace high enough to be considered proper playoff hockey?

far better than the 2 conference finals snoozers. Good intensity, good amount of scoring chances. Wish we could get some closer games though, maybe an overtime battle here or there.

The situation in Arizona is much worse than anyone is letting on.
It's interesting you sharing this when Armstrong has his presser yesterday going out of his way complimenting the new stable ownership that the franchise in Arizona hasn't had. I obviously value your info, but it is some funny seeing the public image vs what may be really going on.

I watched the presser and had the exact same thoughts. The team President was a little more circumspect when he was asked about the financial issues. Of course, nobody is ever going to tell you exactly what is going on in these situations.

Correct, Gutierrez seems much more like a business PR manager at times than anything else. I would just think after a decade of this the league would want this solved. It seemed like they may have had things settling down finally before covid, and it also seems that AM's businesses are getting crushed due to the pandemic which could possibly lead to another change? Is Houston realistic at this point?

Miss it if you can

Eh, it's fine, it's decent hockey. It's not quite playoffs hockey because I think it's hard to get that intensity and everything with no crowds, but if you want something to watch it's not like watching preseason hockey or something.

Feels like we're literally the only team that hasn't been involved in a deal or linked with anything lol.

I know it isn't true and I'd rather it be this way (Rutherford is in straight up panic mode) but I'd be nice to have something to munch on for the next 12 days.

I think Houston is clearly a viable fallback if the Coyotes do fail. Tillman Fertitta owns the Rockets, the arena and is a billionaire several times over.

The thing that's interesting about Arizona is that the arena location, which has been mischaracterized as being in the middle of nowhere, is booming right now. Houses, apartments and jobs being built everywhere. Huge new entertainment complex being built 1/4 mile from the arena and new casino hotel in the ground 1/4 mile in the other direction. Still an uphill climb but I really think if they stopped complaining and concentrated on selling tickets to the people who are close by they could easily survive. Oh yeah, a playoff team wouldn't hurt either.

The only way the Coyotes will ever get a new arena here is if it is privately funded. Aside from the Indian tribes, I just can't see much possibility of that happening. And it's a lot of money to gamble to build in a market that has two other arenas in place plus two stadiums with roofs.

Nah I'm good. I think we are in a good spot. Watch some of these other buffoon GM's make panic moves. Honestly a little nervous but maybe I have just been reading too many trade proposals on the main board. Like us trading 3 young assets like Chytil, Gauthier and 22nd overall for Domi. Having faith that JG won't pull the trigger on a big money move (Like literally take on a lot of money that we may need down the road)
