Oleksiak has been a revelation. Has he always been this good? I thought of him as a journeyman seventh D but in this run he has been very strong. Very confident with the puck and mobile. Stout defensively too.

perfect example of why sometimes you shouldn't give up on a guy too quickly...

he's everything McIlrath should have been. If we had drafted Fowler/Tarasenko in 2010, I feel like management would have been eyeing Oleksiak in 2011 to have someone in that big D role.

Brayden Point’s gloves have the palms cut out/open, which is illegal.

Is that illegal, I used to have that too. Like from natural tear, but I kept them. If nothing else, it was great when you pulled someone’s jersey defensively, could get a great grip and the ref’s almost never spotted it...

fans would have called him a bust and wanted him gone though long before this year...he wasn't very good early in his career and the stars actually traded him to pittsburgh for a 4th round pick. and then got him back 2 years later in a trade.

12.2 Gloves - A glove from which all or part of the palm has been removed or cut to permit the use of the bare hand shall be considered illegal equipment and if any player wears such a glove in play, a minor penalty shall be imposed on him. When a complaint is made under this rule, and such complaint is not sustained, a bench minor penalty shall be imposed against the complaining Club for delaying the game.

Arizona was already in the red, the pandemic causing them massive issues was inevitable. I’d be shocked if they can survive this

So...new ownership search starts now? Also, do you think there's a legitimate chance the franchise moves to another city?

I will flat out say that I think the NHL is sick of this shit and would love to have a club in Houston.

I think if not for COVID that would be your storyline this off-season/upcoming season.

The situation in Arizona is much worse than anyone is letting on.

That's pretty concerning considering just how bad it seems from what's been circulated publicly. Between being late on bonuses, per diems, not paying employees as promised, and being past due on rent it certainly seemed like the team was in dire straits -- and that's before you even consider the actual hockey ops.

I hate to see Yotes fans lose their team but this is beyond ridiculous at this point. Throw in the Chayka fiasco and the draft penalty and it's an absolute gong-show.

I have a much better idea where they should relocate:

All the nonsense currently going on would instantly cease and wild celebrations over the return of the Whale would break out all over the country.

i think we mentioned this before. Bring back Oilers!!!!

well, that might not happen yet i do think Houston is a good idea.

LA Kings loaning all of Turcotte, Thomas, Madden, Dudas and Ingham to Eisbaren Berlin.

- Good team but with ice time available for prospects of that caliber
- International city, most Germans speak English in Berlin
- Pairing a handful of prospects together to go overseas

There's a lot to like here. Kings making the right decisions

scary times for multiple NHL teams. None of these wealthy owners want to lose millions over the years yet this pandemic will likely nose dive those losses.

(edit) . . . and let’s hope what’s happening in Europe is only a precaution b/c this league needs fans in the seats.
