What the hell is Guerin doing?
EDIT: seems like Dubnyk is viewed as a negative value player. shrug. Starter in 4 seasons but was bad last season.

Jack Johnson bought out. People knew that signing by Rutherford was bad the minute it was announced.
Conspiracy alert:

I think they were just doing him a favor by request of Crosby. Dude had financial issues so they threw him a bone. Everyone knew he was a crap player .

That's extremely steep. Anderson is a glorified third liner.

And Montreal adds for some reason.
And if shoulder is 100 percent he could be barely that. Montreal desperate to add size and they sunk Domi's value last season barely playing him on the 4th line. This product is a trade of those two things.

high price for an “if”, right?

Max Domi had a really good first year in Montreal. His second season was a downer and in the playoffs he was bad--so bad he basically ended up on the 4th line. Claude Julien is a good coach. Domi was floating. I think there is a misconception he brings more than offense and he doesn't really and despite being a good fighter for his size he's not really a physical player.

Anderson had 29 goals two/three years ago and he was a good 200' physical player and legit tough. If he gets his health back he's a guy you can go to war with. I would love a healthy Josh Anderson on the Rangers.

The thing is, with that particular injury and the game he plays, I fear he never lasts a full 82 ever again.

Anderson had 27 goals, once and had 47 points. His other career best season is 30 points. Domi is a year younger and has 55 more assists than Anderson has career points.

Domi was unhappy in Montreal. That’s a problem on him; if you can’t motivate yourself to play because you’re moping, that’s a negative but Domi clearly has 60-70 point upside with a 72 point year under his belt already (at age 23/24). He’s 25. If he can figure out how to bring a consistent effort and fix his apparent attitude alla DeAngelo, he’s a legitimate top six center.

Anderson will be a 30-45 point player who maybe pots 20 goals every other year.

That's his best season..Domis best season was over 70 points

Anderson for sure brings an element that MTL's forward corps lacks and that makes Domi redundant as well. He scored 27 with the Blue Jackets, but if he's on MTL's PP1 screening for and tapping in Weber rebounds I'd say he's a solid bet to approach that consistently.

Well I would imagine Bergevin talked to Julien before the trade was made. Domi pretty much played himself into the doghouse in the playoffs. That said the quarantine thing and Domi's diabetes issue might have had some effect on him too. I use to want Domi by the way but that ship has sailed. As far as DeAngelo I think we're moving him but whatever attitude issues he may have had never really arose as a problem since he's been with the Rangers or at least I don't think so. Mind you he's got political takes that I really don't care for but it's not like they've ever really became issues here.

Now and again last year I heard Domi wasn't happy in Montreal--that can be a problem too.

I'll also say Anderson is my kind of player. He's a throwback who plays with real purpose and he's tough and 27 goals is still pretty good.
