Should have traded Stamkos years ago. One of the most injured superstars in the league. Hasn't been the same. All that no tax advantage and trading away 1sts at the deadline year after year and they're missing their captain and possibly the best player on any given night.

This game pretty much went how I thought. We've seen it before really great teams spend all their fuel getting past a very tough Conference Final opponent and have nothing left for the Finals. That's Tampa.

I could be very wrong but I see this as Stars in 5. This isn't going past 6 and if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

Hedman is the best DMan on the ice but after him there's a tremendous overall drop in Tampa's D Corp. The can either defend or play offense but not both. Dallas's D is a little more dynamic and versatile.

Kucherov and Point are nowhere near 100% and having to go up against the brutes of Dallas...not good for them.

Dallas brought in Perry and Paveslsky. Take note Mr. Gorton and bring in some vets like that.

I forgot Dallas played in the winter classic this year. I don’t think any team has won the Cup and classic in the same year.

Yikes, Burke. Where was he also getting this 50k-100k/year mortgage interest deduction? That deduction is limited to a maximum mortgage value of 750k (use to be 1M). If Burke is right, mortgage brokers are charging players 6.66 - 13+% APR on their loans! Not to mention the SALT deduction limit of 10k, the tax argument has always been bogus.

walsh pointed out the error with the mortgage deduction in a 2nd tweet. but I found that part less interesting than limiting the tax liability since taxes as become a big topic in recent years.

Bolts for me. Mostly because of McDonagh, but also because I like when teams who spent several years on the cusp finally break through. I didn’t even hate when the Caps finally did a couple of years ago for the same reason.
I agree and was absolutely fine with the Caps breaking through until they turned the Pens series around with a predatory hit. They lost me there.
But in principle, I agree. A team that builds and grows and pays their dues should get rewarded.

Kiviranta... 11 NHL games prior to the playoffs. Comes into the lineup, scores the game 7 hat trick and has two other huge goals since. 5 goals 6 points in 9 playoff games. Gurianov has 9 goals, including some huge ones and 17 points in 22 games. Heiskanen obviously with 23 in 22 and studly defense. Some good young guys contributing in Dallas. Hintz has 12 points and a lot of disruptive physical play and big shot blocks. Oleksiak is having a huge coming out party. 5 goals and 8 points in 22 playoff games; 3 goals 10 points in 70 regular season games.
