That’s an indefensible f*** up from the Refs. In game 4 of the final in OT? Unreal.
Redemption! Good for Shatty.Shattenkirk with the Marc Staal Special.
Shattenkirk scores an OT goal in the SCF.![]()
Such a bad call. The embellishment call on Point was bad but this one was worse. That’s an indefensible f*** up from the Refs. In game 4 of the final in OT? Unreal.
We'd be watching games that had a total of 20 shotsKhudobin has come back to earth. The loss of Faksa and even Comeau. Stars just not good enough to overcome that. Just imagine if the islanders somehow made it to the finals.
Everyone always talks about how the game is sped up sped up sped up and what not, but there's very very little said about how much more difficult it makes it to officiate it properly. I'm not making excuses at all because what just happened from an officiating standpoint is disgusting, but you have to wonder with the speed of the game how much more difficult it makes it for these guys. I don't know how many of you guys have ever officiated but it's not as easy as it looks to the casual fan. Players moving around, positioning, getting boxed out at certain times, and obviously you have officials that make best guesses when they can't actually see the play and tonight that really burned the league. That's uglyReally tired of bad reffing impacting playoff games.

I honestly don't think there is a solution, speed usually leads to more error and in this case it's probably going to remain as human error. Unfortunately I think it's just what it is. Our sport is an extremely fast, physical game that doesn't really have a better way to be officiated. But I think when guys make a massive mistakes those mistakes are going to stay with them longer. if people are paying more attention to who the officials are nowadays because the calls (and their autonomy) make such a big deal and have such a big effect. If anything I think it really forces you to appreciate the few guys in the league that are consistently good. maybe at some point they stop rotating so many guys through on the playoffs and just start focusing on letting a smaller number of guys officiate more games instead of being worried about possible biases or anything else affecting seriesAgree. The game is too fast for most officials. I don't know what the solution is. What possible training could make them better?
They lost Hintz this game too.Khudobin has come back to earth. The loss of Faksa and even Comeau. Stars just not good enough to overcome that. Just imagine if the islanders somehow made it to the finals.
Yep. Very concerning if he didn’t come back in what was essentially their season. They lost Hintz this game too.
Can you get 80% of the way there by sticking a ref in a booth watching real time video?Agree. The game is too fast for most officials. I don't know what the solution is. What possible training could make them better?
The only solution is for fans to learn how to just deal with it.Agree. The game is too fast for most officials. I don't know what the solution is. What possible training could make them better?
If you accept there's no solution to incorrect calls then you either have to deal with it or make the consequences less harsh. One minute penalties coming up!I honestly don't think there is a solution, speed usually leads to more error and in this case it's probably going to remain as human error.
