Might be premature but it's nice that after all that building and hype that Tampa Bay will finally get their cup. I hate them for knocking us out in 2015 but I have to say its well deserved.
Im glad that if they are to win its the asterisk COVID cup and people won't take it as seriously as a normal cup lol. But yes they have built a great team and probably deserve it.

Not that i'm anti-Dallas, but if they win they will be the worst team to win the Cup, probably ever. Taking that title from St. Louis last year. Doesn't sit right with me.

well, it took a Game 7 double OT goal for the Blues to defeat Dallas last season so it’s not like they haven’t played hard.

Nash was at least getting chances, just couldn't finish. Seguin isn't doing much of anything out there.

Seguin legitimately gets 1-2 chances off the odd man rush and 1-2 prime one timers per game. He’s almost blatantly obviously in the right places, but his shot is clearly ineffective.

he's taking those one timers from too far out. Not really that dangerous.

They used to be from him. His shot isn’t there. His points to dollars ratio is absolutely trash but I have a pretty hard time faulting him for his effort and compete level from what I’ve seen. Unless it turns out he wasn’t injured, I’m going to reserve judgement on him until next season

Not sure I get that for Ottawa. Saving a little cash, sure, but that's not an atrocious contract to have on the books for a cap-floor team. Especially after the come-back story Ryan had. Hopefully it doesn't impact his recovery at all.

Don't think he'll have any trouble finding a new gig though.

they only have 10 guys under contract so 1/2 the team needs to be signed...my guess is they are worried about their internal cap. but it is a strange optic after winning the masterton but its a pretty bad contract

I know but that remaining 1/2 of the team is basically bottom-six forwards and bottom-pairing defensemen outside of Duclair. So while I guess they could just overpay players it seems like an unnecessary move. Maybe it's a courtesy to Ryan to let him try to link up with a contender before his career runs out.
