Last season's playoffs are ancient history. The Rangers will be serious contenders for the Cup way before Dallas. I'd be shocked if the Stars advance past this round.

Lol, so 82 points in 69 games this season count for nothing including tonight. Meanwhile, they lost Game One 3-2

Have you actually watched them play in the Round Robin or in Game 1? Other than the 2nd period against the Knights, tonight's game is the first time since the restart they've actually looked anything but awful.

If you're telling me you view them as a serious contender, I guess I'm not watching the same team. They have about a 1% chance of getting by Vegas or Colorado in the west.

i said “Rangers skated circles around this huge Stars team who appear built for the playoffs like many.”. I guess you’re reading something i’m not posting.

Fine, let's split hairs. I guess your definition of 'built for the playoffs" differs from mine. I view built for the playoffs as making a deep run to the WCF or the Finals. IMO, this Dallas team will be lucky to beat the Flames. We can certainly revisit this in a week or so.

how about learning to read? How confusing is “built for the playoffs like MANY? Need me to define “many” or are those split hairs blinding your eyes? The Stars and Many are playing and apparently build for the playoffs while our Rangers were swept.

I'm not reading any of your posts in this thread and won't be until the playoffs are over, because I'm going to view the entire playoffs through the NHL app / NHL.tv service - which makes the games available 48 hours after they've aired...

I have no idea what time of day they'll be airing all of these playoff games but I work afternoon/evening shifts and I'm generally not available to view the games live.... So this is my only option to access the games in their entirety... I also don't mind watching after the outcome has already transpired either (as long as I don't already know the outcome)...

Viewing Hawks/Knights game 1 right now haha....

If they both hit their full potential, I think Miller will be explosive and dangerous. But Lundkvist will be more steady and efficient.

Lundkvist could get there faster. But Miller could be a scary scary man if we give him a long enough runway.

I agree. They were raving about Miller at camp--basically the glimpses we got of that was out of one corner of the rink and you couldn't really tell a lot. Those two, Matthew Robertson and maybe Zac Jones should be coming in the next two/three/four years. I suspect Miller will play some NHL this year.

Big decisions. Problem is Lundkvist hasn’t done it and is a prospect. Yes, you mentioned two years for ADA.

Offense wins games and defense wins championships.

FWIW DeAngelo's defense has gotten better with time. We can't really afford to make his contract untradeable with Zibanejad's a couple years away. The money is one thing and the term is another. If he gets $5 + on a one or two year term that's okay.

+1 - the Rangers have a two year window. But if they go 4 for Strome, 4 for ADA, another fella gets 3 then it will be sad to see young talent headed towards the door b/c the Rangers were stupid.

A lot of players have always wanted to play for the Rangers--not everyone mind you but with Panarin, Zibanejad, Kakko, Lafreniere and a lot of other pieces the Rangers are putting together MSG is even going to be more of a destination so players like Strome should be replaceable if only even for a temporary period of time. We have enough really good defensive prospects where I think both LD and RD will eventually anyway take care of themselves. Center really depends a lot on Chytil improving--it will also be helpful if someone like Justin Richards (two time defensive forward of the year in his college division and two for two in his three years of being on an NCAA championship team) makes his mark and maybe becomes a Casey Cizikas or Dominic Moore for us.

The more depth problems we can fix with ELC and second contract players the better for the team in the long run. So these guys like Richards, Khodorenko etc. are worth watching.

Ok so says they stented his coronary artery.

Guessing it was a heart attack rather than angina.

I had chest pains a few years ago that I thought was my heart. In the end it ended up being esophageal spasms but while undergoing tests on my heart they discovered an underlying genetic issue I have. So this kinda stuff is always scary to read about.

Since my diagnosis I've gone vegan, and stopped eating all junk food. Has been huge for me in keeping my heart healthy.

Good on you man. Many people see issues and can't make the changes necessary.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your symptoms/signs?

Obviously we don't have to discuss this here. If it's something you can share, a PM is fine.

Lucky you !...and I mean that in a good way . I have a blocked main artery that cannot be fixed as it has no place a graft would stick I was informed last Sept . They had been checking my lungs as I could not climb 6 steps without stopping to breathe . That wasted over a year doing tests and seeing so called specialists . Finally I had the dye test and found out on the blockage plus the other 3 are 60-50-40 blocked. I am on lots of pills plus I had a catheter ablation done in Jan and it helped a LOT . I am still working and golfing . I have thought about Vegan...do you have a website that you can recommend as a starting point ? I am a non smoker , not overweight , no heart disease history in family...but have been a diabetic type 2 for 20 years...

Couple of books I'd recommend.

How not to die by Dr greger (he's got a vlog.. it's like nutritional facts. Org or something similar)
There's also pretty much any book written by Dr. Ornish, I've read em all, but un-do it is probably the best.. or at least easiest to absorb

If u want recipes, thug kitchen is amazing.

Re @Edge
I felt my chest tighten really hard and release..it did it a few times over the last 5 years and I've been rushed to the e.r. each time only to be told there's nothing wrong with me.

Eventually the e.r. doc just told me to go see a cardiologist to make sure everything is ok.

The cardiologist did a stress test...echo, nuclear stress strat, blood work. Everything was normal except for one random scan.

Then they ran more tests and found out I've got something completely unrelated to the chest pains (which were esophageal spasms as diagnosed by a g.i... stopping all eating after 8pm has solved that issue). My dad died from a heart attack at 52 and they think he must have had the same issue. As long as I stay vegan, consume almost no fat, and stay active it shouldn't affect my lifespan. In theory.

I went to the 16 hour fast, and stop all food from 4:00 in the afternoon to 8:00 the next morning. I lost 12 pounds and dropped my blood sugar level. Fats are not so much the issue as much as carbs.
