I’m still surprised Vegas traded for lehner and have essentially made him the starter here. He’s definitely better than fleury just surprised after fleury did what he did helping this team to the finals.

I mean he’s got 2 years left. Certainly not that old. Although this is around the age hank started falling off just going to be interesting to see what they do this summer between them

Kirk Meuller is coaching the Habs tonight. He and Brendan Shanahan signed pennants at my little league awards dinner in the 80s when they were with the Devils. I still have it upstairs somewhere.

Tampa has so much talent but they always play so fancy. It’s like Cooper just stands there and lets them do what they want. That team should be blowing out Columbus every game.

At least half the trade threads on the main boards involve the Rangers right now. I don’t think I have ever seen us have that many at once before.

It's been said before, but LOL at how hard the Panthers beefed the Vegas expansion draft.

They're so easily rattled. It doesn't take much to knock them off their game.

Fleury is still pretty good though and that's one solid tandem. There are going to be very very few off nights when Vegas goalies are going to let them down.

Nice the announcer kept speaking to finish her prolonged point throughout play.

MAF has been pretty pedestrian since that run to the Finals. He hasn't come close to the level he was at during the WCFs. I think if Gallant is still the coach he's probably starting, but DeBoer is making the right choice by going with Lehner.

Imagine if Tampa didn't win game 1 in 5 overtimes? They would probably get swept again this series. Maybe 5. Columbus obviously has some of the strongest mental fortitude in the league

...and started by our own fans.

Getting Lafreniere changes the dynamic even more. I actually think the Rangers are going to have to move on from DeAngelo if not this year then next year. There is too much commonality between what he brings and what Fox and Lundkvist bring and these are younger guys and the Rangers are going to need the 2 or 3 years of ELC that Nils will give him when he finally comes over. DeAngelo is heading for the big money and we can't afford to sign him long term with Zibanejad's contract coming up and then Shesterkin and then probably Fox, Kakko and Lafreniere. Both Fox and Lundkvist are more rounded players than Tony is too. Nils as a 19 year old pretty much ended last year owning the SHL. He's for real.

What we might get back for Tony is the real question. We well might not get a player of his talent and quality but maybe two or three players we can use to plug holes and better than the AHL tweeners we have doing it now. Trades might pop up for Strome and Buchnevich---guys that might get $4.5, 5, 6 mil a year but who aren't really the drivers of the team. Tony is at times a driver of the offense but Fox and Lundkvist should be more than adequate replacements for that offense and are better defensively.

Stone has been a playoff beast for Vegas. 9 goals and 18 points in 12 games.
Mark "literally Jesus" Stone.
