Torts actually got a lot of his group when you consider the players that didn't return this year but they blew that game. Korpisalo did not have a good game. When the Bruins are like the team you can stand the most in the east things are pretty f***ed up.

True and he deserves credit. But his style really doesn’t work today like it did say 10-15 years ago. Don’t get me wrong you can still get into the playoffs but not go too far. That gridding type of style tires out your players. We saw in with our own team in 2012

Torts is great at getting results out of less talented teams. That's his niche. And it better be. When he got here, it was obvious it just wasn't going to work with two of our four 20-goal scorers and one was let go for nothing and one retired. Happened with Gaborik years later, luckily that was a great trade. Ever notice when Mats Zuccarello's career took off? Looked at Henrik Sedin's Pts/GP by year? Wonder why no scoring talent signs in Columbus and most leaves when they get a chance?

He's good at what he does and that's what some teams need, but if the goal is to build a championship I would exhaust all other options.

The Islanders are the 2005-2011 Nashville Predators, except they’re not doing it as an expansion team. They’ve had like 20 years of preparation lirl.

The only team they’ve ever had that impressed me (and worried me) was the short-lived 2014-15 team.

Same. That team was good and those Rangers/Isles games that year were absolutely gripping and intense.
