Isles don't create a lot of offense but it seems like they score on one out of every 2 every half decent chances they get. Very annoying. Washington is playing like trash though, only scored 2 greasy ones on the PP.

I’ve been working, eating, and multi-tasking through much of this game. That said, when I’ve paid attention, I have not noticed Ovechkin at all.

Caps are the worst of the top 4. I’m happy tho the bruins are playing the canes. The canes would have easily passed by the caps of this year. Holtby is shaky at best and they have no other option.

Timeline wise, if Gorton and JD were to make a decision on firing Quinn in favor of Gallant, it'd be before the QF are over.

They aren't going to. All the hockey men around the league are under the impression he's a good coach for this group. If it were up to me he'd be out today though, I don't trust him to develop our young stud prospects, at all.

Gallant is a terrific coach but the caps will be on a serious decline

I don't disagree, it won't suck because he will make them better. I just don't want anyone else to have him until we figure out what we have in DQ.

I think some people are living in an alternate universe. This team is not moving on from Quinn. They just aren't.

I just heard the dumbest question ever (not just in sports) in the Islanders post-game. A reporter asked Trotz "you say you want to be disciplined and not take penalties, how do you convince your team to do that when the winning goal came shorthanded?"

This was an actual question an adult person asked Trotz.
