I truly believe fitz really screwed the pooch here. He thought he was the smartest guy in the room not trying to solve his teams enormous hole at goalie and banking on getting helly at the tdl. He’s left the devs in a really precarious spot. They miss graves and severson too.

Everyones favorite juggernaut just lost to one of the f***ing worst teams in the league.

@EdJovanovski I'll hook you up with the Pizza Hut tonight and send some of Kupo's crack if you want it.
Like I said, I don’t see a playoff team yet. Losing to them last season though may have brought necessary changes to our team

Can they win like Colorado? Maybe but they’re no where near as big as Colorado.

Hughes is a phenomenal talent though.

Hughes just got annihilated

yea holy hell he got ragdolled. was actually impressed he got up and stayed in the game, he's just so light. also shocked he put himself in that position...he's typically extremely tough to get any hit on because he's so aware of what's around him and so light on his feet. that's a hit i think the whole barn saw coming 5 seconds before it happened and he just glided right into it.

he's a special player though...the way he can create something out of nothing pretty much anytime the puck ends up on his stick and the speed he makes it happen at is rare. sucks knowing how close we were....insane how different the league might look if only a handful of lottery ball bounces went a different direction the last 5-10 years.

That Colorado team was LOADED with 2+ zone carriers. They had at least one on every line and 2 on defense.

Even with that, they also needed pretty much every break to fall their way. Cooper figured out how to slow them down eventually but Tampa had nothing left in the tank by the time he did.

This isn't the case.

He's gotten blown up a TON. It's been an issue of his dating back to the NTDP days and he's taken some big time licks at the NHL level. I mean if you play long enough in this league someone is going to end up getting you sooner or later but he gets lit up way more often than top guys normally do and most of those guys have 20-30 lbs on him.

I get the Hughes dislike from our fan base, but Hughes is overall a fairly likable young dude with insane talent. He’s a happy medium between a Matthews and a McDavid personality wise and he’s one of the best American hockey products I’ve ever seen.

USA hockey has hit its absolute peak right when we don’t have best on best tournaments anymore.

Hughes, Matthews, Thompson, Robertson, Eichel, Debrincat, Tkachuk, Tkachuk, Keller, Larkin, Gaudreau, Tuch, Zegras, Colefield, Cooley, Kreider
Fox, McAvoy, Hughes, Slavin, Sanderson, KAM, Trouba
Hellebuyck, Oettinger, Quick lol

Made sure to add some NYR vets to each group, for leadership purposes.
