The devils are a lot like the islanders in that they both got fooled by a fluke successful season and had their fans spouting ignorant shit like "in lou we trust" and the devils version "fitz has got it".
lamoriello is the least competent old dinosaur still cashing paychecks and fitzgerald doesn't understand how to be successful - he gave ruff, yes lindy f***ing ruff, a multiyear contract extension while letting all his experienced d and effective bottom 6 walk.
At least the islanders fans are realistic and know they suck and have a long way back to relevance. The much lower hocky IQ devils fans VASTLY overrate their talent and their excuses just know no bounds. The devils also have a hugheses problem. luke hughes is going to need some serious coaching to become an acceptable dman yet he's out there shift after shift despite making the same beer league mistakes over and over. At this point can he even handle being benched or scratched?
And if jack is playing with an arm torn off like jersey fans claim, then why? The reason to me is that he wants to keep padding his stats rather than ending his season early. What a massive f***ing mess in the swamp.

Eh..."let him play through it even if he struggles" is what a lot of people around here said we should have done with Kakko and Lafreniere and what they praised the Devils for doing with Jack Hughes.
I think the difference would be it's one thing when it's a non playoff team and you're trying to just fill icetime and let young players settle in, it's another if you say you're expecting to be a contender or playoff team and you're forcing that guy out on the ice game after game for big minutes when they might benefit from a rest or reset.
As for Jack Hughes playing through injury, obviously he has been doing so because it's what the team needs to have a shot at the playoffs even those chances are now dim. More concerning woudl be whether getting injured every year and playing hurt will become a regular thing

Honestly..... Not being a homer here, but cashing in on Rempe mania seems like a no brainer. Won't happen but he would be one of the more entertaining players to follow.

Hell yeah Rempe needs to be one of the NHLers that gets followed around all season. I can see it now, Rempe shadow boxing in front of the mirror saying yeah I got it. It would be way better than having a clown like Pasta be on there. First off nobody can understand that accent, and secondly I’m not interested in seeing posters of Lindgren on his walls as he’s elbowing them.

In all honestly, they will most likely use a Ranger. Bread would be perfect but it won't be him. I think Trocheck would probably be great for it, especially if they want someone with a family to follow.
You'd also get plenty of French Bread if you're following Troch around.
