Devils fans somewhere on the main boards said a while ago "how can you look at this roster and say they're not objectively a great team?" Even when they were losing. Punk team with bitch players.

Every sports writer and non-Ranger fan has been saying they are "stacked" for the past two years. People had them winning the cup because Hughes cuts to the middle with speed. If the Oilers haven't won a cup yet, how the heck could a 2nd year breakout from NJD win a cup? It's the same team as Edmonton.
Aside from Hughes (and Bratt? maybe?) being very good players, I think the NJD ball riding is that they are the "smaller market" team in the Metro area. Little David Devils so cute and feisty against the big bad market Goliath Rongoz.

Except they aren't. We've beaten them two of three this season and in the playoffs two years ago. Kuch, Point, Stamkos and Vasi scare me much more than anyone on the Canes.

Yeah, if Hughes isn't playing well he obviously is injured, can't be anything else as he's the best player in the world. Also they are missing #1 Norris trophy candidate Hamilton and now #2 Norris trophy candidate Siegenthaler got Remped, so that's hurting their otherwise perfect team. And back in October they missed two other players due to injury... Can't expect them to beat the Coyotes now with all those injuries.

So you see, it's only bad luck and goaltending that is saving the league from their dominance!
