Last year they had a coach. It matters.
Yes, I know Brunette isn't there anymore but still. Last year everything went their way. Everything. This year not so much. They also made some bad signings and got rid of some guys that helped them last year. Such a shame.

Yeah I'm desperately hang on to a team I rank somewhere between cancer and 9/11 being a good team.
Eh, some people think I am an actual Devils fan. A family obsession with the Rangers from birth would, funnily enough, be right in the wheel house of a Devils fan anyway.

As far as NHL teams DeAngelo might have run out of highway.

It's tough being a small defenseman and you do have to work at being harder at being defensively responsible---because it's a handicap against bigger and stronger players. There are some that can do it and Fox and Spurgeon would be two. Even somewhat undersized can be an issue which shows sometimes with both Lindgren and Gustafsson. DeAngelo has never really been able to handle it.....sometimes I had the sense that he was just disinterested. He's got very good hockey skills and that's kind of kept his career alive but........

The other part seems to be his personality which has rubbed several teams now the wrong way. Perhaps he'll get another chance but I don't know if anyone is going to trade for him. If you're a playoff bound team you really don't want a shaky defenseman even for depth.

Nor should anyone want Tony in an election year.

TDA going from +30 in 21-22 to -27 in 22-23 has to be some sort of record. Man is Jacob Slavin good!

He has skills like passing and speed and a decent shot ......he should be converted to a winger . Plus he is not scared out there . But....there is the obvious other stuff that hurts him . Oh well.....he had his chances . Poor guy was likely raised that way and knows no other . The way she goes !
