I guarantee you that no one on Earth would’ve guessed a Stanley Cup Final featuring the Seattle Kraken and the Florida Panthers. Of the remaining teams that is what I’d wanna see.

I wonder if the rumor was true that the Rangers offered Panarin to the Flames last off-season for Matthew Tkachuk and Panarin said nope.
I want to see that Finals match up just so Bettman has an aneurysm.

Florida is coming out of the East if Bobrovsky can keep this going.

Imagine NYR fans when Marc Staal and Eric Staal make a Cup Finals before the Rangers do since they left the org. The meltdown will be fun to watch.

The Tkachuk-Bennet-Cousins line is a blast to watch. Wish NYR would play with a little of the edge that line has, maybe we could have drug New Jersey into a battle in Games 4 & 5 & 7 and slowed them down.

Not to mention Verhaege, Barkov, Duclair, Reinhart. Montour is fantastic on the backend, and Radko Gudas is surpisingly competent, didn't know he has that much game. Haven't even mentioned Forsling and Ekblad.

For the West, I was tossed up on Dallas or Edmonton. Edmonton has the McDavid Drai factor, but Oettinger is the clear cut better goalie between he and Skinner, and Dallas team overal contends with Edmonton overall.

Seattle giving me pause though. I am not ready to change my mind on that series yet, still favor Dallas and it's only been 1 period, but if Seattle continues this through this game & Game 2... and we'll talk.
If West finals somehow ends up Seattle-Vegas....I'm booking a Florida-Seattle Cup Finals.
Insane travel. If anyone picked that coming into the season, they'll be rich

This Seattle team has a lot of similarities to the VGK team that went to the Finals....with a much better defense. . That Vegas run had Fleury close to his best, however....Grubauer is a complete f***ing wild card.

Gudas is UFA he is one guy id love but I dont think he plays LD. Him behind Lindgren would be fun to watch. Cousins is solid. I wanted him when he was on the Flyers. Good underrated player with an edge. Rangers seem to be allergic to anything physical or with any real emotion. I wonder if they even make love 😂

Gudas would turn into Pilon the second he puts on our sweater

Just For Men needs Brent Burns next

$500-650M buys you a pretty good expansion team. Both Vegas and Seattle made it to at least the 2nd round in their first playoff appearance.

Cousins is extremely annoying to play against, which is something we sorely need. When he was on Vegas for a brief stint & I watched him play everyday, he's also annoying to root for as he is really limited offensively with a below average hockey IQ.

Give him credit. He would be Dave Karpa here

His heart and effort overcomes that sometimes. That battle level sometimes helps the other players.

Ship Trouba down to Florida to replace Gudas and sign Gudas here to replace Trouba for cheaper.

Pipe dream, and I'd rather move Panarin than Trouba, as the only issue I have with Trouba is he shouldn't be PP2 and his contract is an overpay by about $2.5-$3M.

Trouba at least tries and cares. Not his fault he got that contract. It’s not like he said I only want to be traded to NYR for 8 mil. I like Trouba wish he had more offense like he did on the Jets. It dried up here at least he hits and plays tough. Wish it rubbed off on Mika Panarin and others when it counts the playoffs

Mika is actually a strong player...when he wants to be. Not physical, but he's got good speed, good puck protection, and is strong on his stick.

My pet peeve is we need to get him away from Kreider...for a fast guy, Kreider only uses his speed to skate directly toward the corner for he and Zibanejad's go to dump to the corner for a bounce and a breakaway.

kreider, for a strong man, also lacks any sort of physical edge. He should play with Trocheck so hopefully Trochecks style drags kreider into it.

I want to see Lafreniere and Kakko with Zibanejad. Lafreniere is a tenacious forechecker, lack of points aside. Kakko is a fierce puck protector, lack of points aside. They can create space for Mika to drive with speed and get his shot off.
Trocheck hoepfully can drag Kreider into his style of straight line, simple hockey.
I guess that leaves Panarin with Chytil.

I don't care what fancy stats say, quick, physical, simple hockey players are what is making teams successful, advanced analytics supportive or not. Bennett, Cousins, Gourde, Domi, Kostin, Haula, Tatar, Sprong, Tanev....just a short list of the many quick and/or tenacious gritty players making teams in the 2nd round successful

Seattle gives zero f***s who you are or what you've accomplished.

Remind me a bit of Carolina where they just complied a bunch of good, not great players except their good players are basically all goal scorers.
