I'll tell you what fellas, I wouldn't want to be the team that has to face the Canes in the playoffs. Something about that team that gives me that feeling that they will make another long playoff run this year like last season.

That line of Aho,Svechnikov and Teravainen might be the most underrated great line in all of hockey as no one talks about that but they are lethal. Brind'Amour as well might be the most underrated great coach in the league as well. Fun team to watch I have to admit.

The Pacific division is funny. Now the Canucks are in danger of losing 4 straight.

I still think Vegas is the best team in that division.

Fans around the league seem to confuse Vegas for a much better team than they really are, when in fact they are living off the reputation they forged during their initial season. Truth is they are completely relying on their forwards to outscore everyone, awful on D, & below average in goal.

That ferocious forecheck & 200 foot game that gave opponents fits is a thing of the past. They remind me so much of the dark era 97-04 Rangers as they have a bunch of highly paid guys who don't think they need to play 60 minutes.

Fleury is the one worst offenders who continues to reap the benefits of that inaugural season. He was terrific that year, good, not great last year, but this year has been a huge struggle. Fans that don't pay too close attention call him their best player, but that's nowhere near accurate. To be fair he was playing very well before his dad passed, but since then he's been fighting it pretty badly. Again, the team is pathetic on D, so that's not helping his numbers.

Before the deadline, they desperately need to make a trade for a steady, top 4 D man who can clear the crease. Problem is they're so close to the cap they'll need to send a top 9 forward who makes significant salary the other way.

Of course they blow a 3-1 lead and give up 4 goals in the 3rd period immediately after I type that.

Still, the other teams in the Pacific all have big flaws as well.

Trouba for Stone?

Very hard to figure why that need has not been addressed by now . Are they against the Cap or have a self imposed one ? Reimer is far from the answer . Rangers must be asking for a ton for Georgiev . I hope that maneuver does not backfire on Gorton . Any other insights here about Canes goalie situation ?

Pacific division is horrid. All 3 California teams who used to have success in recent years, are now all on the bottom. It leaves teams like Edmonton and Vancouver with an opportunity to sneak in there.

Yeah I was definitely pushing it and I knew it.

The guy from the Rangers the Knights could really use is Georgiev, actually. Problem is there's nobody on Vegas who they would give up for him that would intrigue me enough to make the deal. I'd love to have Will Carrier on the Rangers, think Lemieux who's harder on the forecheck with better hands, but there's no way Vegas trades him for a goalie.

I hear ya bout the Canes goaltending but like last year, they somehow figure out a way to win games vs anyone including the best teams in the league.

Mrazek tho his stats aren't going to blow you away when he goes into one of those zones of his, he's really tough to beat. Bottom line, this team is going to be a very very tough out come playoff time!!
