Sharks spanking Oilers 5-3. Ethan Bear just scored for Oilers.

I wonder if Brady Skjei could get Timo Meier

Your kidding right? If by the slight chance you aren't, there is no way on gods green earth the Sharks would give us Meier for Skjei unless you added a Kravtsov. Than they might think about it and they still likely wouldn't do it...lol

there's some special **** going on here, man. bet we see a Mike Green type season (30g) again sooner than later

Not sure a Quinn Hughes will be the dman scoring 30+ but I could see it happening in the next few years tho it's still real difficult for a dman to do it seeing everything has to go right for them.

A Zack Werenski or a Dougie Hamilton type dman who can snipe, I could see doing it. I could possibly even seeing our very own Tony D flirt with it. I used to think a Brent Burns could flirt with a 30 goal season...not anymore as his play has gone down considerably this year as age I think has caught up to him.

Meier and Leblanc for Skjei and Buchnevich??

Still nope. I'd love it if the Sharks would do that but no way they do that as advantage Rangers by a ton!.

Meier is potentially a 70-75 point guy while Leblanc is in that 50-55 range. Why in the world would Doug Wilson pull the trigger on a deal where he'd lose out on both ends of the deal. Not a chance. We'd have to add a Kravtsov to your deal to even tempt them and they'd likely still say no!

Tonight is a microcosm of why, tho the Oilers will make the playoffs, they will likely be one and done!.

Goaltending and defensive corps still sieve like. And their reliance on McDavid and Draseitle as great as they are, is just to extreme as they really have no consistent scoring threats other than those two.

My concern with Lebanc, just seems like in a different environment he would be less effective/productive. If so I'm not sure what his role is. Similar to my concern with Jost. No pk, if not on a scoring line then what?

Yet I do think there may be at least some level of interest on the Rangers part in both.

Even if there was interest on our part, I just feel if Gorton wanted Leblanc a guy I happen to like, he'd be paying too much of a premium for my blood.

Considering we are still in the later parts of the rebuild and tho Leblanc would intrigue and temp me I would pass seeing I truly believe Wilson would ask for too much from us and we really shouldn't be in buying mode at this point in time while selling some of our valuable assets!

who asked most of the Nation? Oh yeah, Gretzky’s old team.

Neither Mike Trout nor McDavid are seen live by most of the nation. Terrible

Yah it is kind of a shame that both those studs play in time zones where most of the hockey and baseball universe is sleeping when they are doing their magic. But so long as you, myself and the other nutsos who stay up at night for this shit due to our love for the sport, that's what we'll have to deal with going forward.

Funny to think about it but if McDavid and Trout played in NY, they would both besides be already inducted into the Hall of Fame by now as there would be a special exemptions for the two of them, they would also both be mentioned as two of the greatest athletes in NY sports history no matter the sport.

Instead, they both are in Edmonton and Anaheim and they'll continue too only be the best players in both their respective sports only....poor guys...lol

If it were me, I'd be looking for players who do things besides be on a scoring line.

Something like, if the player ends up on a scoring line, producing like he should be on that line, awesome, I can forgo the other traits.

Yet if he ends up on a 3rd line with 3rd line production, and penalty kills too, or add some other trait, toughness, fore-checking, etc, that is a good fall back.

Buch or Leblanc or Jost not producing, even if it's only because of variance in shooting % or whatever, there just is not a ton of other valuable traits they add when not producing. I mean, I'd take them on their cheaper contract years, yet once those cheaper years are no longer available, it's always going to be a tough call on just how much they add versus the next cheaper contract years from a different yet similar player.

Don't look now, but that pack of losers out in the desert are going to hand New Jersey a 2nd lottery ball this summer. And probably won't even have Hall to show for it starting next season. What a sad franchise.

at least Anaheim is going all in bringing in more stars. Hasn't worked for them in the past but thats the difference between Anaheim and Edmonton. Anaheim can and will spend. Plus the whole no cap thing..
