I'd use Ryan O'Reilly for Tage Thompson, Patrik Berglund, Vladimir Sobotka, 1st, 2nd as a reference point and Eichel is on another level from ROR, especially at that point in ROR's career. He really elevated his game in STL. Maybe this is a good opening offer (sorry, I think the "opening" part is irrelevant) for an average 1C but for a young hot stud center like Eichel? Is Chytil supposed to fill in nicely for Buffalo's center depth? I know we like the kid and he's made some encouraging advancements this season but he's still far from guaranteed top 6 quality. But the ROR pick was 31st OA. Ok, well Matt Duchene 1.0 went for Shane Bowers, Andrew Hammond, 2018 conditional 1st round pick (Bowen Byram btw), 2019 3rd round pick. EDIT: forgot Kyle Turris was part of that trade too.

Ok, maybe terrible is hyberbole but I think if you post that in the boards, universally non-Ranger fans will laugh you out of your pants. Eichel >>>>> ROR or Duchene. That package is needs to be two 1sts for Eichel level or the Chytil part needs to upgraded significantly. Again, I like him but he is by no means a guaranteed impact player Buffalo will need if they are losing Eichel. And they'll need such a player in the deal to make it happen from their POV. Sadly, I don't think we have the player on our team that fits that description unless Botterill and the Buffalo scouts are smoking the Strome hemp.
St Louis pick was super low... Ours will be super high. A top 10, maybe top 5 pick in maybe the strongest draft in 20 years is worth a lot.

Let's say we get a top 10 pick... And wherever were picking we can nab Lucas holtz.

Are you telling me chytil, a guy with clear 2nd line center upside maybe more. Miller a guy with top pair but most likely a 2nd pair defenseman, and Lucas holtz isn't a good opening offer? I mean that's a fairly gutting trade to the rangers depth. Left defense is our weakest aspect to our team as is wing. We're essentially using 2 of our strongest prospects (miller and that pick) to upgrade a 2c to a franchise c..... And add 10m to the salary cap.

Honestly in a vacuum you gotta ask yourself how in a few years the rangers are going to afford Mika, panarin, trouba and eichel.

I imagine we’re a long ways away from an Eichel trade, but the fact that no one’s hypothetical offers include anyone from the club’s greatest and most desirable asset pool (RD) is mind boggling. You’re acquiring a 1st line center while keeping one of Fox/ADA on the third pair? (Trouba’s NMC will have kicked in, so don’t suggest him.) Silliness.

Something like ADA (centerpiece) + Strome (RFA center to step into the gap) + Henriksson (B/B+ forward prospect) + Hajek (B/B+ defenseman prospect) would make a lot more sense. (Sub in the ‘21 1st rounder and/or any prospects not named Kravtsov, Miller, or Lundkvist for the last two pieces, as needed.)
Yeah your offer is far more palatable to me. Addressing an area of weakness with strength while not taking on a ridiculous salary with sending nothing out.

Strome and deangelo will add up to at least 7m next year...so figure the rangers are adding only 3m in salary. Much easier to do.

DeAngelo, strome, hajek, Robertson, 2021 first

For funsies let's say you did that above trade.. then trade kreider and fasth for newhook because magic.

You could roll...

Panarin eichel kakko
Kravtsov zibanejad buchnevich
Lemieux chytil newhook
Howden and 4th line guys.

Skjei trouba
Lindgren fox
Staal lundkvist

That's a pretty decent lineup.

Man....a 3rd, 3rd (that can become a 2nd) and Trevor Moore for Campbell and Clifford at 50%. Is it just me or did the Leafs vastly overpay?

Moore is speedy and has the potential to take another step or two as well.

Leafs are starting to panic. Went out and got a new backup to get the fans off his back, and the team is criticized as being soft as baby poop so they got a gritty Clifford as well. Not sure if either will amount to anything but hey its worth a shot.

This trade does more to help Buffalo now. They are such a train wreck. Futures are not what that team needs right now. I didn't say the offer had bad pieces but those aren't going to be the pieces that can pry an Eichel out of Buffalo. Chytil has 2nd line up side but he hasn't performed up to the up side yet. Again, I like the player but while not quite magic beans, he's like... sprouting beans? Still can dry up and shrivel and be perennial 30 point player. Buffalo does not make that trade simply because of "upside." ADA is proven asset. Strome still has that "all because of Panarin" stigma so I think we'd need some magic dust like a 4 point night the very game Botteril is visiting to scout him.

If that 3rd becomes a 2nd I would say it tilts against the Leafs. Clifford is legitimately tough--and he puts up 15 points a year---decent 4th line numbers. Their team is soft. Campbell's a decent backup--so they got an insurance goalie and now we won't have to listen to all that Bracco + a 3rd for Georgiev from their posters--so we win. I don't think that much of Moore. It's the draft picks particularly if one of them is a 2nd.

Every bone in my body says this is the Lightning's year. Last years horrific display in the playoffs combined with them having a tough start this year to where they have been the best team in the league the past two months leads me to believe this is the team to beat for the Cup.

Alot of peeps will still doubt them after the debacle of last year...not me!. This team is humming and have everything you need to win a Cup. Last year will serve them well this year. We'll see and yes the Bruins, Caps, Blues and Avalanche will have alot to say about whether or not the Lightning win the Cup but for me, this is the team I'll be putting my money where my mouth is when I go to the casino tomorrow night and put a couple of hundy's on them. Hope to get some decent odds...hmmm...doubtful.

How do you rank these pyscho good lines?

MacKinnon, Rantanan and Landeskog?

Pastrnak, Bergeron and Marchand

Or guess who's back together the past few games?

Kucherov, Point and Stamkos

Dang...tough ass call

I go Pasta line followed by Kucherov line and than the MacKinnon line. Very close but Bruins line is too damn lethal and borderline unstoppable on the PP.

Kreuger is going to be fired after this game. Eichel spoke, Reinhart spoke, ROR's ghost spoke, the owners spoke to the dismay of Sabres fans, the GM spoke on radio to calm things down. The players spoke some more. The ultimate under the bus PR move would be to fire the coach and hope for a renaissance.

If they do that, they haven’t learned a thing

Kings leading 2-0 to Islanders right now

With the bad way that the Sabres are playing they'll beat the Rangers 4-3 tomorrow lmfao joking but won't surprise me

No way. I don't like this for multiple reasons. The gods won't allow it after we had the conditional first round pick agreement and they couldn't win. Plus their fans are so arrogant. Plus the team is heartless in the playoffs.

Rage I hear ya and agree with ya somewhat but this Lightning team is nasty and I don't think they'll be denied.
