Ironic isn't it? Montoya is a good back-up. Chad Johnson is a back-up in Boston. The Rangers have Biron who everyone calls old and bad.

Indeed, he's got composure which is the thing I noticed developing the last couple years. Still wouldn't want him starting the majority of games if my starter went down, but he's been trending upwards for awhile now.

Biron is still serviceable I think, he hasn't had a good game in awhile but going back to last year he wasn't getting a ton of help '11-'12 he was stellar but I thought he overachieved. Maybe he's still somewhere in the middle it's probably his last season in the NHL.

I can't edit because I've been bad, but was going to add that Anderson has stunk and that is why I am hesitant to call the Sens a guaranteed PO team. They go as he goes and he's not looked good. Was wondering if we'd see this side of him again.

To be fair though, Hank hasn't looked good either. I think Andy will be fine

Yeah I have trouble calling out any goalies with Hank playing the way he has, not all his fault obviously. But it's hard to justify taking shots at other teams goalies when our GAA and Sv. % are as bad as they are.

Yeah, but if Montoya was still here there's a 100% chance people would:

A) Post about how much better he is than Hank, and we would have weekly trade Lundqvist threads.
B) Complain that we wasted a first-round pick on a perennial backup
C) Wonder why we kept Montoya instead of Chad Johnson, or Jason LaBarbera
D) Wish we had a more veteran backup

HFNYR - Never satisfied.

The Rangers organization, the fans and media don't have much patience with growing pains.

Or they're very impatient.

Andrew Gross and Stop coaching Pat Leonard want the Rangers to bring up Kreider and/or Miller to round out the Rangers roster. Both of them are down there to play major minutes and develop their games.

Is this in jest, then?

The Rangers have a lack of team speed with no Nash, Hagelin or Kreider, which would be a solid case to bring up Chris, but I think as it is we can give those guys 20-30 games at a minimum to get confidence.

NYR just need to settle, start winning games, and stop turning the puck over in their own end. I don't think its a personnel issue, though missing Nash hasn't helped.

In terms of the league, no one in our division is really running away so far. NJ, Washington, and Philidelphia look like they could be in for very poor seasons. We just need to stay in the hunt of things during this transitional period. Making the playoffs will be tougher for us under this format, as everyone knows.

The fans spur this on more than anyone IMO, I don't know how many times I see random comments on blogs or Facebook about how Asham needs to be sent down and Kreider brought up cause he is "so much better ZOMG!" it's the same people who say we should buyout Richards anytime he has a bad game, and they don't mean use an amnesty buyout on him, they just want him bought out the next day.

I think the guys in the media see this and start pandering to it.

Yak benched for 2nd straight game ?

I know he's played bad lately - so I'm not that surpriced...

Wow, second game benched for Yakupov? Eakins is doing things previous Edmonton coaches might not have done.

I still thing that team is being held back by Lowe. The coach can only do so much with what he is given.

I think their goal tending is the biggest hold-back there, together with all the offensive talent that simply doesn't work.

All things considered, I would trade anyone but McDonagh straight up for Yakupov.

That Eberle guy is pretty damn good.

Random prediction: In 10 years, MDZ > Eberle might look like a bigger draft mistake than McIlrath > Tarasenko

if you thought NYR were bad. Buffalo hasn't had the lead. Once. This whole season. That's just indescribable.
