They're setting themselves nicely for the patented heroic run to 9th place. Which will then give new "hope" and "optimism" that the team has finally figured things out, leading to an offseason where not much changes, and then rinse and repeat next year.

Seems like their 23-year olds stepped up rather than shrank, a good goalie tandem and the two big moves on their blueline have been very good.

I thought their GM did a good job, plus their young players broke through with a veteran core. They strengthened the goalie and defense (Thompson, Roy, Chychrun). Decided to take a flyer on the PLD. Guys like McMichael and Protas were great. Ovi's second youth.
