Getting back to actual hockey, P L Dubois had arguably his best game as a King last night scored a goal, had some big hits and was generally a shit disturber. Now I've seen this before with him where he looks like the kind of player that everyone thinks he can be and them disappears.

Perry woke him up with that hit early in the game plus this game had a playoff atmosphere ... a preview of what's to come?
It's funny this board was making fun of PLD not scoring and how the new Jets were out scoring PLD.

Yup linesmen had to come over and get the puck for Byfield who wanted to give the puck to the LA coach on his first win, by the way Byfield is going to be a beast.

Ridly Grieg knew exactly what he was doing last night, he knew he was going to get a reaction, but Rielly's actual actions deserve a hefty suspension.

I don't have an issue with Rielly going at Grieg a bit, like a little shove or something, but the head shot is way too far.

Without watching the game and knowing the context I disliked the Greig slapper and would have wanted a Jet player to confront him if he did that to us.

However, the bizarre Morgan “the ghost of Dale Hunter” Rielly waiting for a 5 count then cross checaking to the neck/head area was a total overreaction.

The good news for DPOS is that there is a precedent for hits after an empty net goal with Schief on Evans

I could argue that the Schief play was almost a hockey play in they the time from when the puck left Evans stick to contact was nothing, and had thr pick gone off the post by accident, schief was just taking his man out of the play

The Reilly hit is WAY worse.in that it wasn't a hockey play at all, was premeditated and primary contact was stick to head

Since it's generally accepted that every playoff game suspended is worth 2 regular season games, logic would state that Reilly's suspension should START at 8 games and go up from there

Yup, based on the precedent and Scheif’s being a hockey play, while Rielly’s is way later and an obvious intent to injure, I’d say you start at 10 and go up from there.

Re: the first bolded — we’ll have to see, minus the Covid bubble against an infamously piss-poor playoff team in the Leafs, PLD has been invisible in the playoffs

Re: the second bolded — the Vilardi/Iafallo/Kupari trio is still outscoring PLD now

Re: the third bolded — it was a pretty big trade that obviously is gonna be talked about for years, and we’re less than a season from it, seems perfectly reasonable to discuss. Plus, PLD didn’t exactly endear himself to Winnipeg faithful, it’s no wonder a lot of the fans here our enjoying him sucking.
