I think we are fast approaching a point where Pettersson and/or Miller surpass Naslund for 3rd best Canuck forward in this century.

Absolutely. He played at around 270-275 in full gear and could play any game, could beat a defence on the rush wide or find a way through it, was a great passer, and played in the slot like a basketball player in the post -- he'd just keep his back to 1-2 defenders 10 feet from the net, wait for them to commit to a play, and then draw the puck through them to get a shot or dish it off in all the space he created. I've never seen anyone else with the strength and skill to do that. I think most of us feel that if things had gone a bit differently he could have been one of the best power forwards ever.
He didn't play at 275 buts it's a cute story.

Kaapo Kakko is on the block again in NY. A former second overall pick who appears to have worn out his welcome in the Big Apple. Any interest from the Canucks? At least he has the size that could help their forward line.
Perhaps a change of scenery trade of Hoglander for Kakko could work.

With playoff games included Kakko is closing in on 400 NHL games. That’s no longer a small sample size, or just a young kid getting his feet wet.

If he’s a better fit for what Tocchet likes, I’d see if they are game for Hoglander…but I wouldn’t offer any more than that and my guess is they might still be asking for more because of pedigree.
