Honestly? I feel bad for Skinner. This game isn't on him despite that awful third goal, but he'll absorb all the blame. Bouchard and Ekholm have been a train wreck, Nurse is Nurse and the greatest player in the world looks pedestrian.

We could loan Edmonton prime Demko and it'd still be a close series with how bad their defense has been.

Skinner is a class act, but hes just not that good a goalie.

If July 7-10 pass without an extension for Connor, I’d say oiler fans will be bombarded by Connor leaving threads. Would Edm really just play out next season or look to trade him?

Agreed. He's a goalie you get on a defensive focused team not to be your main guy on a team as inconsistent as Edmonton's blueline.

If they don’t get him signed to an extension he will be moved before the season or very early in the season. With the contract he will demand this summer is likley the best time to move him.

And honestly the deal will likely be middling large contract players, multiple first rounders and a teams best couple of prospects. They will never get true value for him. And if you move him are you forced to move Draisatl as well?

But this discussion is premature. The Oilers are going to be sending 4 guys in every shift and can score in bunches as we know.

I'd love to see it for no other reason than what sort of trade involving a superstar of that level would garner. It's easy to say you punt every prospect, draft pick and young roster player you can for McDavid, but who's doing that without an extension locked in?

If I'm McDavid, I'd be wary of signing with anyone knowing I'll have all 32 teams lining up at my door.

I’m a broken record at this point, but the crazy thing is if the Oilers just did nothing this past offseason they win this series in my opinion.
