I suppose there's a chance the Jets can recover from a 1-3 hole and move on. But unless Hellebucyk finds a way to exorcise his demons on the road, then it's unlikely.

I don't know what it is in the 'Peg, but they seem to shoot their bolt in the regular season. And when the intensity and speed gets ramped up in the playoffs, they can't find a way to match it.

Just goes to show the massive difference between the hockey you see in the regular season what we're seeing now as the playoffs inch towards the conference finals.

Maybe the Jets catch a lot of tired teams during the regular season, who finish in Winnipeg at the end of long road-trips. That's certainly the case with the Canucks, who always seem to hit the 'Peg at the tail-end of a five or six game road-trip.

But last year against the Av's and this year against the playoff-hardened Stars, they just seem a step behind.
Dallas was certainly a team that would be considered cup favourites this year…and then they added Rantanen. He’s been the best player in the post season. I think Jets just ran up against a better team.

Ken Holland's weird smile officially named GM of the Kings.

McNabb and Pietrangelo will play. Stone and Saad are out.

Edmonton is good, but they do seem to have caught massive breaks in the playoffs. No Boeser/Demko in R2 last year. No Tanev/Hintz last year for most of R3. Now, a completely decimated Vegas team in R2 this year.

We will see how if that luck continues against Dallas.

Now that Tocchet is apparently officially hired in Philly--is there anyone left in this market who still doesn't believe that he'd made that decision half-way through last season in Vancouver?

Apparently not IMac or half the beat writers in this town. Tocchet declined to negotiate a contract in mid-season; then turned down a big offer from the Canucks at the end of the season.

Let's face it, he had one-foot out the door in December. And the Miller trade just clinched it.

Time to move on and admit that he just didn't want to be here.

Ken Holland is an average GM, imo. This is what LA is trying to control for here.

I'm not sure about the fit though? For EDM it made sense because they wanted to play up tempo, skilled hockey. LA is built in the opposite direction.

Will be an interesting test case.

The leafs building up their fanbase's expectations only to win *one more game* than the last time they got to the second round is a hilarious possibility that I only just realized
