I'd love it if the Leafs won. The "Canada's Team" thing ... well, they were Canada's team for 50-60 years. Their history has to be of interest to any serious hockey fan. Ontario and Toronto are in fact a repository for many different parts of our identity as Canadians. And they are always an exciting team. If they win it'll be the biggest and best party season Ontario has ever seen. Let them have it, it'll be fun for millions of people.

Absolutely not.

Toronto can’t eat shit and hope they burn in hell until the ends of time.

They are Canada’s Team about as much as the Dallas Cowboys are “Americas Team”.

It’s already unbearable to watch TSN or Sportsnet.

Having the Leafs win will be talked about until we are all dead and buried and no NHL season will ever matter again.

They might even make a rule change where the Stanley Cup is retired and no other team can win the Cup ever again.

An Oilers-Leafs series would be like eating shit covered broken glass. There would be no winning with any plausible outcome.
