There's no reason for the Pittsburgh organization to regret that either. It's more likely Toronto regrets the decision to let him go.Its the hiring of the clueless Dubas that the Pittsburgh organization will soon if not already regret.
Its only a matter of time !!!!
Hagel? He is their 2nd best player this year after kucherov
I doubt either team regrets much of anything. No manager was going to turn the Penguins into a winner this season, just as no manager was going to be permitted to trade guys like Crosby or Malkin. Meanwhile, in Toronto, the Leafs will almost certainly experience more playoff success this season than they have in all of Dubas' years as manager, but the idea of that being exclusively the result of Treliving's (or Dubas') work is silly. There's no reason for the Pittsburgh organization to regret that either. Kyle wanted autonomy. Wonder how he likes being told what to do by Sid and Geno.I doubt either team regrets much of anything. Dude... stop making predictions on how well our Leafs are going to do this year. I think YOU are the jinx here.I doubt either team regrets much of anything. Again, I don't really see this as a big deal. It was obviously all well-known in advance of taking the position. It's not like he walked in on day one and was surprised by the fact that he couldn't trade Sidney Crosby. There is presumably a reason he got a seven year contract. He has a few years to see if he can squeeze blood from a stone (with everyone knowing full well that nobody could), and then a few years to rebuild it.Kyle wanted autonomy. Wonder how he likes being told what to do by Sid and Geno.
I can't imagine believing in anything more silly than a "jinx". The Leafs will succeed this season because the rest of the conference has become mostly mediocre. It's basically Toronto and Florida (I don't believe the Rangers are anything more than they were last season).Dude... stop making predictions on how well our Leafs are going to do this year. Not sure what you think makes that certain. Even if they do, it's unlikely to have much to do with Treliving, and teams don't evaluate GMs exclusively by playoff series wins and losses with no context, like some fans here do.Meanwhile, in Toronto, the Leafs will almost certainly experience more playoff success this season than they have in all of Dubas' years as manager, but the idea of that being exclusively the result of Treliving's (or Dubas') work is silly.
He's not being told what to do by Sid and Geno. He's being told what to do by the team's owners, which is the same for every team.Kyle wanted autonomy. Wonder how he likes being told what to do by Sid and Geno.
Because I think they are better than almost every team in the Eastern conference? It doesn't seem all that complicated. Not sure what you think makes that certain. Im not saying I like him b/c hes a bolt, i like him as a player/his play style. A 65-80 pt player who goes to the dirty areas, will forecheck hard, and be willing to engage in the extra stuff on the ice is a player type I would love to haveRemember when he was jawing at Luke Schenn with Tanner Jeannot?
That's been the case for years. There are no certainties in the NHL playoffs.Because I think they are better than almost every team in the Eastern conference?

We need to indentify the next Hagel type player and acquire him for the leafs.
Bertuzzi may be our Hagel if he is hot come playoffs. He has the ability to be skilled and be a pest at the same time. Bertuzzi isnt the LT solution though.
That is the tough thing though right. Tampa tried to acquire the next Hagel last year and instead grossly overpaid for Jeannot lolIm not saying I like him b/c hes a bolt, i like him as a player/his play style. I disagree. Other than last year, Tampa has very clearly been many steps ahead of the Leafs. That's been the case for years. There are no certainties in the NHL playoffs.
The only place Tampa has been "steps ahead" of the Leafs is their #1 goalie. And the Leafs have still been the better team for years.I disagree. Other than last year, Tampa has very clearly been many steps ahead of the Leafs.
Things usually end up working well for Tampa. I won't be surprised if Jeannot becomes trouble for teams in the playoffsAgreed, that trade worked out very well for Tampa. The Jeannot trade, not so much.
I'm sure he will be injured. He seems to be injured a lot.Things usually end up working well for Tampa. I won't be surprised if Jeannot becomes trouble for teams in the playoffs

He just isn’t a very good hockey player is the thing. Like he doesn’t really have the required skill to have a breakout. He is a career 4th liner.Things usually end up working well for Tampa. I won't be surprised if Jeannot becomes trouble for teams in the playoffs
The way the Team is rolling now, I wish there were more regular season games left so they could challenge Florida for the division.Anyone find themselves groaning a little bit when realizing there is still 26 games or so left in the regular season? IMO, the league needs to find a way to get to the playoffs quicker. It’s borderline criminal there are regular season games still being played on April 17th.
If the Leafs can take 35 points from their last 25 games, which I think should be pretty doable for them, that should be enough to at least get them home ice in the first round. The way the Team is rolling now, I wish there were more regular season games left so they could challenge Florida for the division.

There are no "certainties" with the NHL playoffs, no matter who you think is better than who.
