He rebounded from a mediocre regular season in 2019-2020 to be dominant and win a cup in the playoffs that year, and then was the best goalie in the world - regular season and playoffs - for years. It's too early for me to write him off permanently, and none of the other teams in the mix have a goalie option that is more likely to go on a run.

I'm not writing him off permanently. I think the issue is that Tampa's defense has taken such a hit over the past couple of years that there is only so much that he can do. I think people underestimate how good Tampa's defense was during their Cup years.

Tampa's defense was certainly better during their cup years, but even then, it was vastly overrated. Those cups were Vasilevsky more than anything else.
Tampa being poor defensively also isn't new. It's been years now, but the Vasilevsky struggles are new.

I find it odd how much the NHL tends to underutilize the weekends outside of Saturdays.
I guess a lot of the arenas in hockey get used for other events, but the NHL seems to drop the ball in that regard more than other sports leagues.

Another boring night in the NHL. One half decent game last night and it was played at 3/4 pace and none tonight. Tomorrow is not much better.

I think they need to do away with 3 point games and take the top 8 teams (6 would be better) in each conference so there are more meaningful games.

The Yotes have had some recent organizational failures so them outright terminating his contract (likely because of some breached team policy) without consideration of the player assistance program likely will result in some embarrassing backlash.

He had a privilige to play in NHL, make millions of $$$ and live like a king for the rest of his life in his home in Slovakia, doing whatever drugs he chose (or not) for the rest of his life.
