So we're ~10 weeks away from when they supposedly want to start the season (so lets say 6 weeks to training camp) and we know nothing about a start date, length of season etc.
We are 10 weeks away from the WJC in Edmonton bubble, the only top-level hockey officially on the schedule.

That delight (with 13 kings prospects likely playing) ends Jan 5th.

Very likely camps don’t start before that date. Maybe 7th or 11th if January with a target of February season start.

Will take a bit of negotiation for the NHLPA and NHL to iron this out.

So, I am guessing the Pacific Division would be picking up Dallas and Colorado?

Um yeah, it's going to be a long season playing Vegas, Colorado, and Dallas seven times.

Yes, but there are 4 or so guys at the top of next years draft that are top guys, so it's gonna help with that. I'm especially intrigued by Clarke.

I was thinking next year's pick would be in the top 10, and now if the divisions re-align with the Pacific picking up Colorado and Dallas I am thinking top 5 again.

One more team needed.

If Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary are out ...

Either Blues or Wild come in to the West.

Dal, 24-14-2, .625
SJ, 24-16-4, .591
VGK, 26-18-3, .585
Min, 24-20-3, .543
Col, 21-18-4, .535
LA, 22-19-5, .533
Ari, 21-19-6, .522
Ana, 18-21-8, .468

Those are the records of the teams in the potential division, against the division, over the last 2 years. Keep in mind, the Kings could not have given less of a damn in this time frame. 6-3-0 against Vegas too.

...and I would handicap such a division like this:

Colorado
Vegas
Dallas
Minnesota
San Jose
KINGS
Anaheim
Arizona

This would be considered a good season for the Kings, in my opinion.

I think the Kings will be better than SJ.

Today I heard a segment on NHL Network radio where the host and SJ radio guy Dan Rosenowski were creaming all over each other about how important Joe will be in the Toronto locker room. I was laughing my ass off at the self-deceit.

Don't get me wrong, bringing him in as a depth player and a veteran good personality is one thing...but when I heard the stuff about him teaching Tavares leadership and those comments about goaltending I LOST it. Like we need any more proof the Eastern Conf. doesn't pay attention.

I think SJ bounces back a bit. They have no margin for error, they can't lose 3 top 6 F's for 20-30 games again, but given some luck, I'd guess they're back in the playoff conversation.

Minnesota is a mess. They're only doing something if their next crop of young guys does something, unlike their previous crop of young guys, who are all gone playing as depth pieces around the league. And they just traded one of those young guys, for a 32 year old Nick Bonino.

I wouldn't mind sucking for just one more year and drafting Clarke/Power/Edvinsson/Hughes/Lambos. We should take on Loui Eriksson's contract for Vancouver's first next year too, then draft Jesper Wallstedt. Adding #1 defenseman and #1 goalie to our prospect pool would just be the icing on the cake.

I admit I haven't been following prospects that much. I thought Villalta was supposed to be the farm's best goalie prospect now that Petersen is with the kings.

I'm cool with this as long as the prospects continue to cook.

Vilardi and Petersen will determine where the Kings finish.

I thought LA should be in on Eriksson as well. Not sure Vancouver would do it now that TT has signed elsewhere.

Maybe Sven B + a 2nd for a 7th or something. Only one year contract and be done.
