They’re definitely trading Askarov for a forward now.
thank god that crap is off the table for us. Not that the rumor was anything but total bullshit to begin with.Saros extending with Nashville

Big oof
There’s a segment of teams making moves to compete for a Stanley Cup now or in the near term.
There’s a segment of teams making moves to compete for the Stanley Cup down the line.
And then there’s a segment of teams doing neither. Nashville is stuck in the mid.
Ekblad was not really that good this year, like he fell off worse than Pesce looks like he might do soonFlorida moving Ekblad to make room for Montour
Smart management to move him now though.Ekblad was not really that good this year, like he fell off worse than Pesce looks like he might do soon
Yeah. He may be able to bounce back as he gets further away from those devestating injuries he suffered, but he wasn't good this year.Ekblad was not really that good this year, like he fell off worse than Pesce looks like he might do soon
Nashville is at least drafting in high quantities. That's the positive in what they're doing. They're crossing their fingers for a Dallas moment where a bunch of young guys trickle their way in and the team becomes a near-equal mixture of young and experienced within the next 5 years.
Good luck to them. They’re going to need it.
I think there's about zero percent chance that one will withstand appeal.NFL just lost the Sunday Ticket case with a huge award pending appeal.
This could have implications for other Professional Leagues with individual teams having more control/power over rights distributions/revenues. That would assist big market teams at the expense of smaller markets. An excerpt from WSJ article:
"Jones testified that while the Cowboys would make more money if they could sell their own TV rights, owing to their popularity, such a dynamic would ultimately hurt the league overall".
They'll just send Trouba into the head office toRags fans think they can get a + value asset out of an un-retained Trouba?
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess it was one of Luke DeCock, Chip Alexander or Justin Pelletier.
Smart management, moving out high paid, older players past their prime.Rangers getting bailed out for Goodrow and Trouba is *really* f***ing annoying.

Canes could do that too but rather trade down and accumulate loads of lottery picks.
It's better than watching him whiff on elbows and allowing odd man rushes at $8M.Rangers are going to be paying 2.4 to 2.6 million to not have their captain play for them for 2 years. Im not sure if thats quite being bailed out.

Of course but they are not taking the risk of later years in contract and thus often passing on great players.Canes don't have that, period. Their one player who's currently overpaid is an under-26 guy, which explains their patience with him.
I am breathing a sigh of relief that he'll have less opportunities to injure our players. It would help us to have Trouba no longer with a rival. Mock him as a player all you like, he took us out of our game more than once. Detroit is doing us a favor if they get him, and helping themselves at the same time if they get significant retention.
