Looking at the standings and I know it's way early for this but the playoff participants almost seem set, pretty much in both conferences and they're almost the same as last year...

Minnesota
Winnipeg
Dallas
Colorado

Clear top 4 in the central. St. Louis and Utah are mid, Preds and Hawks are terrible

Vegas
Edmonton
L.A.
Vancouver

Seems like a clear top 4 in the Pacific to me. Who is beating out Vancouver? Calgary is ripe for a quick fall down the standings, Seattle is as mid as it gets, California teams are miles away

Florida
Toronto
Tampa Bay
Boston

I'm still of the belief that Boston will get their shit together relative to the shitty bottom 4 in the Atlantic. Does anybody believe that Ottawa, Detroit or Buffalo unseats them? I sure don't. Pretty clear top 4

Carolina
Washington
Devils
Rangers

I fully believe that the Rangers will get it together. Does anybody believe that the Flyers, Islanders, Pens or Jackets will top the Rangers? The Rangers are a mess but no way IMO.

Pretty remarkable that the playoff participants are almost set on December 13th. Way early for this but can anybody make a strong argument for a team currently out to knock out a team currently in.
If this holds, the only difference from last year of the 16 would be the Devils knocking out the Islanders and nobody is surprised by this, the Devils were ravaged by injuries last year and were a prime candidate to bounce back this season. Pretty wild the consistency in the standings.
Ottawa has significantly better metrics than the Bruins and are losing close games vs the Bruins having to fight tooth and nail to win in close games and getting mauled in losses. Not saying it's guaranteed, but Ottawa could actually surpass Boston depending on who wins the season series (Ottawa currently leading).

Other than the 4 games in a row where he scored 4 goals earlier in the year, has he produced anything at all outside of that?
I mean he had a great start to the season but we all have seen him go on nice streaks then do nothing for 20 games. He will finish the season with around the same point total he always does.

Just waiting for the mains to post this like how they did for Jeff Skinner. Then surely, clown posters like EDMflyerfans will comment if Tkachuk talked to Norris about the diving or did he support it like how McDavid apparently supports Skinner for diving lmaoooooooo

And be the softest player in the world the entire time. Perfect that he's in Buffalo as he will never have to worry about taking a hit to make a play in the playoffs. As they will never make the playoffs. Don't miss him one bit.

Still patiently waiting for the biggest diving offenders (Kadri, Pettersson, Stuzle, Marchand) to be held to account, but it doesn’t look like the NHL has any interest in actually policing the real problem players.

Rats and divers run the league. Just look at the most recent Cup winning rosters.

Still no mains thread about Norris diving fine. I guess if you're not the Oilers, those main mouth breathers can't be bothered to make a thread of a player on a different team to yap the way they do. Especially mouthbreather 3 on 0, Divine, or EDMflyersfan.

Oilers legend Kevin Gravel.
If you would’ve told me 10 years ago that Oesterle is one of 6 players from the 2014-15 season still in the league, I wouldn’t have believed you.

I would’ve thought you lost your mind if you said he was playing as the 1LD in Boston in 2024 lol.
